JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance & Regulatory Manager fulfills the roles of HACCP/FSP Coordinator, GMP Auditor and building to a BRC/SQF Audit. This pivotal role develops, administers and maintains applicable Food Safety Policies. This individual also implements Food Safety Programs including, but not limited to, Good Manufacturing Programs, BRC/SQF and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point). This role will also function as Regulatory Manager and will be primary contact for Regulatory bodies and approve suppliers, labels, and materials. Beyond performing this role’s responsibilities efficiently, the QA Manager needs to be committed and passionate about food safety and willing and excited to help build to achieve a BRC/SQF audit and a maintained food safely culture afterwards.

This position will:

  • Lead in the development, implementation, review, verification and validation of the BRC System including food safety fundamentals and the overall corporate food safety plan
  • Lead team meetings related to managing BRC, HACCP and Food Safety/Quality
  • Conduct individual employee Food Safety training at time of hire and throughout employment
  • Maintain all Food Safety & Quality Certifications
  • Lead 3rd party (GFSI, SQF, etc.) and customer audits
  • Serve as primary contact and liaison for regulatory agencies (FDA, WSDA)
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of FSMA
  • Lead investigations and respond to customer complaints
  • Maintain and report all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) pertaining to food safety
  • Maintain compliance with product specifications & retail product labeling regulatory standards
  • Directly participate in the investigation of any quality issues
  • Develop and maintain testing of product, including managing product evaluation/retain system
  • Manage Organic and Kosher certification
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety Standards and related operational procedures
  • Serve as regulatory approval authority for labels and packaging
  • Source and approve new materials
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

Working knowledge of:

  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and FSA/FSMA Regulations
  • Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or equivalent experience in a food science related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a Quality Assurance role in a food manufacturing facility
  • Strong leadership skills and management experience to drive a culture of excellence
  • A team-oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail with outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Must possess outstanding verbal & written communication skills and work effectively with team members, customers and third-party authority figures
  • Must be a self-starter and able to follow-through with tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs
  • Able to stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to function effectively in production/warehousing and office environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
