Role: Sales Director - Consumer Business Services


What is the Role?

Gerent is looking for a Sales Director who is accountable for identifying and driving new opportunities with new and existing customers to meet revenue quota/targets. They are also responsible for leadership and support throughout the customer engagement and solution implementation lifecycle.


This individual is an experienced sales executive in an industry and/or selling technology solutions. They are client-centric, strategic problem solver who can understand our customers, their motivations and develop the right engagement that will meet their needs and make them successful. They possess business analysis and critical thinking skills to synthesize customer needs. They work closely with Pre-Sales, Industry Subject Matter experts and Delivery experts in order to effectively shape the deal.


The Sales Director will have the opportunity to grow into an Senior Sales Leader role managing a team to achieve a group target.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively develop and execute a territory and sales plan with the VP of Sales for Emerging. Industries, required to maintain and grow business for Gerent’s services implementation engagements.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Gerent’s credentials and Salesforce solutions and roadmap.
  • Builds and develops relationships with Salesforce executives, field sales teams, and owns account planning, including key pursuits.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales cycle by understanding our prospective clients’ challenges and framing solutions to them leveraging both our people and Salesforce technology. You’ll quarterback our resources and bring the business context to our proposed solutions. Our typica cycle involves:
    • Initial Client Introduction + Need Assessments
    • Scoping Conversations (Pre-Sales Led)
    • Solution Proposals
    • Development & Presentation of Statement of Work
    • T’s and C’s Negotiations
  • Transition the deal to the delivery team with the appropriate knowledge sharing sessions when it gets signed
  • Stay engaged with the Customer during the delivery to assess any new opportunities or contract extensions
  • Perform business development duties, including but not limited to market and territory analysis, new business opportunity identification, marketing campaigns, pursuit and solution proposal leadership, contract negotiation and execution, post-sale customer success engagement, existing customer retention and growth, facilitation of long-term relationships with both customers and partners, with strong emphasis on nurturing Salesforce field sales relationships.
  • Maintain executive alignment and the Gerent relationship with the our clients as our teams deliver projects for them and as we work towards additional work together.
  • Execute daily pipeline management in Salesforce and provide weekly forecast, pipeline, and activity reports, as directed.
  • Successfully hit your targets- Quarterly and Annual Sales Targets
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with our Practice leadership, Pre-Sales, Delivery Team Members and support teams.
  • Maintains knowledge of problems solved for customers in the industry of focus.
  • Successfully articulate Gerent and Salesforce credentials, in the context of effective discovery regarding prospect/customer requirements, leading to proposed solutions.
  • Complete Trailheads and Salesforce Certification on the following within 12 months of joining: Salesforce Associate

What You Can Expect

  • By the end of the first month, you’ll have a clear understanding of:

    • How to build & deliver a proposal
    • How to write a Statement of Work
    • How to conduct an effective Sales to Delivery Handoff
  • At the conclusion of month three, you’ll have:
    • Successfully completed your first sales cycles (and won!)
      • Proactively report on data to understand why we are winning and losing, and cross-functionally, communicate feedback to continually improve.
    • Conducted a Sales to Delivery Hand-Off
    • Execute a networking strategy, expanding your contact with Salesforce Account Executives and Regional Vice Presidents.
    • Represent Gerent at a conference or networking event.
    • Develop and implement strategic initiatives within your territory that will lead to long-term growth
    • Be successful and have fun while doing it!

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of consulting, services sales experience or industry specific sales experience (industry specific experience is preferred but not required)
  • 5+ years selling technology solutions or industry specific sales
  • Documented and sustained track record of sales success
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics in a simple manner
  • Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Approximately 30 percent travel
  • Experience partnering with executives as a trusted advisor
  • Solid judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or priorities
  • Experience with end-to-end implementation of Salesforce solutions or SaaS solutions highly desired.
  • Salesforce ecosystem experience highly desired
  • Strong influence, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong experience collaborating with business process owners, program/project management leaders, and technical teams to develop solution proposals
  • Preferred experience with large scale technology projects
  • Preferred experience working with technical and creative project teams
  • Proficient in G-Suite and Microsoft Office apps and other collaboration and project management tools (e.g. – MS Teams, Quip, Slack, Smartsheet, Lucidchart, etc.)

  • Innovation, Creativity, Strategic and Problem-Solving — Should be willing to think outside the box when confronting challenges, think strategically (not always about the big deal) and build out practice assets. Strong (and creative!) problem-solving and analytical skills.
