Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Exterior Construction Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing takeoffs and inspecting the conditions of exterior components for HOA residential homes, commercial, and apartment projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of construction materials, building codes, and industry standards, as well as the ability to identify and address potential issues during the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and assess all aspects of exterior construction to include the following:
  • Siding and associated components.
  • Stucco and associated components
  • Wood components to include Trim, Fascia, Beams Etc.
  • Fences and associated components
  • Balconies/Decks to include waterproofing components and wood components such as guard rails, trim, pickets, duckboards, joists etc.
  • Wrought Iron
  • Familiar with Excel & Microsoft

Required Qualifications:

· Compliance and Safety Standards:

Ensure that exterior construction work meets local building codes, zoning regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

  • Documentation:

Report any deviations or non-compliance to estimator. Maintain detailed inspection reports, including photographs, notes, and documentation of any issues, recommendations, and resolutions.

  • Site Coordination:

Coordinate with Account Executive and Estimator to resolve any issues identified during inspections. Provide guidance and clarification on construction procedures as needed.

  • Deficiency Identification and Resolution:

Identify deficiencies or potential problems in construction work related to exterior components. Work with Account Executive and Estimator to suggest corrective actions and ensure timely resolution.

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in exterior construction inspection or related roles. Experience with both residential and commercial projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of building codes, construction materials, and exterior building systems (e.g., siding, stucco, balconies, exterior home components ).
  • Knowledgeable with construction materials such as James Hardie, Westcoat, Sherwin Williams and other wood materials.
  • Familiarity with construction inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or potential issues in construction work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for documenting inspections and communicating with teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and inspect construction sites for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and ability to climb ladders or scaffolding as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of sustainable construction practices and eco-friendly materials.
  • Familiarity with advanced construction inspection software or apps.

Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
