The Team Lead, Contracts Administration position will report to the Finance Center of Excellence Director and be a key member of the Montrose Consulting and Engineering Center of Excellence (COE). This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Team Leadership: Provides guidance, direction, and support to ensure team success and professional development.
- Contract Management Oversight: Review end to end billing contract set up within the ERP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with revenue recognition accounting standards, company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards. Ensure timely and accurate set up of billing contracts to minimize invoicing delays.
- Revenue Oversight: Review revenue for accuracy, completeness and cut off on an on-going basis. Ensure revenue is reflective of billing contracts, and compliant with US GAAP revenue recognition standards and work collaboratively with others to resolve issues.
- Fixed Fee Project Support: Ensure fixed fee projects have accurate and complete cost budgets which are updated on a timely basis to ensure accurate revenue recognition. Support project managers with cost budget development and management, recognizing and escalating potential issues and risk areas.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve contract setup and closeout processes, developing and implementing best practices, tools, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as Finance, Operations, and Senior Management to ensure compliance with processes and procedures required to achieve business goals and exceed customer expectations.
- Training and Development: Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and professional development within the team.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field. A similar combination of experience and education will be considered.
- 1+ year of experience in team leadership and management.
- Strong attention to detail, with superior communication skills.
- Knowledge of revenue recognition accounting standards, preferably ASC 606.
- Strong understanding of contract and project management principles and practices.
- Desire to develop leadership and people management skills, with an interest in team development, coaching and workload management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Workday preferred).
- Experience in construction, engineering, or other project-based industries is a plus.
- The Team Lead, Contract Administration may be considered for remote or hybrid in the Calgary area

This is a permanent position with a salary $85k-$95k, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
