About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on leader to generate sales growth for Bellwether across new channels, verticals, and customer segments in the United States and Canada. This role will require an entrepreneurial skillset to identify new business opportunities and build them out from the ground up.
Initial new verticals will include office coffee, hospitality, foodservice, grocery and restaurants. The role will also help grow our sales affiliate program, identifying and onboarding new affiliate partners to expand our sales pipeline across these verticals.
This role reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for establishing, executing, and continually improving processes that prove effective in closing deals for these new verticals and channels. The Head of Strategic Sales will lead all sales and account management activity and document successful practices and pitches into a road tested playbook.

Details
This role is eligible for a commission plan and the estimated OTE is $228k.
Location
The role requires on-site presence in Berkeley a minimum of 3-4 times per week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic annual plan in partnership with the VP of Sales and Marketing
- Optimize the stages of the sales process; refine both inbound and outbound practices; create repeatable sales scripts, email templates, and demo agendas, etc.
- Create a sales playbook for new vertical processes
- Manage all existing new vertical leads and accounts and expand our contact database by identifying target customers and accounts via research
- Work closely with broader GTM team (sales, marketing, success, impact) and coffee team to improve overall customer experience and sales performance
- Conduct research on target vertical business needs to inform our positioning and prioritize efforts based on product market fit
- Collaborate with marketing on new vertical marketing strategy and content/collateral
- Manage weekly KPIs and performance reporting; understand & communicate when/why targets are missed and rapidly implement plans to overcome those challenges
- Develop a transparent and best-in-class sales process that elevates value to customers
- Support core vertical sales needs as needed, directed by the VP of Sales and Marketing
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Sales, with at least 2+ years of leadership experience generating revenue
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience bringing new products to market and expanding sales into new verticals
- Experience in creating a repeatable and scalable sales process
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Data-driven expert in sales metrics and CRM systems such as Hubspot
- Self motivated individual with infectious enthusiasm and sense of urgency
- Experience developing an advanced sales stack, using modern tools and resources
