Responsibilities & what we are looking for
Position Overview:
As our Contract Logistics Business Development Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our company's growth in the contract logistics field. Your job is all about creating opportunities, fostering client relationships, and tailoring logistics solutions to make our clients' supply chains run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify industries, sectors, and potential clients that align with our contract logistics capabilities.
- Analyze market trends, customer demands, and competitive landscape to refine business development strategies.
- Utilize a variety of channels, including networking, industry events, digital platforms, and referrals, to generate leads.
- Qualify leads and evaluate their potential for creating long-term partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Understand clients' supply chain challenges and business objectives to offer suitable contract logistics solutions.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams to design comprehensive logistics solutions that address clients' unique needs.
- Craft proposals, presentations, and pitches that showcase our capabilities and value proposition.
- Lead negotiations to establish mutually beneficial terms and contractual agreements.
- Ensure that contracts align with both client expectations and company capabilities.
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand the company's contract logistics market share.
Regularly review progress, adjust strategies, and take corrective actions as needed.
7. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, pricing, and customer service, to ensure seamless implementation of contracted services.
- Provide necessary information and insights to ensure successful project execution.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact contract logistics.
- Use this knowledge to continuously enhance our service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and project progress.
- Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, pipeline, and market insights.
- Demonstrated success in business development, particularly in the contract logistics or third-party logistics (3PL) industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, preferred.
- Deep understanding of contract logistics services, supply chain solutions, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify market trends and translate them into strategic actions.
- Proficiency in CRM software, sales tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and market research.
- Minimum 1- 5 years sales experience in Contract Logistics.
- A track record of successful business development.
- Own and drive personal car to visit customers.
