BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Book+Street is seeking a roll-up your sleeves, whatever it takes, Business Development Manager to work closely with our CEO, and our Heads of CFO, COO and Talent Solutions with the implementation of our sales and marketing strategies. Working closely with our CEO and Marketing + Events Coordinator, this position is a full-time, exempt, in-office position in our Columbus office. Travel to our regional offices and events is required.The ideal candidate will work a minimum of 40 hours per week primarily on-site in our Columbus office, generally during our core hours of business, as well as occasional evenings for events, as needed. Hybrid work is not offered for this role.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in business administration or marketing and have 3+ years of experience working with a professional services firm or technology startup to implement sales, partnership, and outreach strategies.

SUMMARY
Reporting to the CEO, this role will be instrumental in growing the firm over the next 24 months, and will be responsible for generating and tracking leads, identifying partnership opportunities and maintaining deals in our HUBSPOT CRM. Working closely with our CEO and Marketing + Events Coordinator, the Business Development Manager will attend events, make connections, and speak fluently to our service offering with confidence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- :Identify and research potential clients and partners through various channels such as networking, cold calling, email outreach, social media, and attending industry events.
- : Qualify leads based on criteria such as budget, authority, need, and timeline to ensure they align with the company's target market and offerings.
- : Initiate contact with leads through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels to introduce the company's services, understand their needs, and schedule meetings or demonstrations. Attend events and share the Book+Street story within the communities we serve, including Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo, Indianapolis, Ann Arbor, Pittsburgh, and Nashville, as required.
- : Build and nurture relationships with prospects and industry partners by providing information about the company's services, addressing their questions or concerns, and positioning the company as a trusted advisor.
- : Manage and update CRM systems (Hubspot and Monday.com) to track leads, monitor progress, and ensure follow-up activities are completed in a timely manner to move leads through the engagement pipeline.
- :Collaborate with the CEO and the CFO, COO and Talent Solutions Leads, marketing, and other stakeholders to align strategies, share insights, and optimize lead generation and conversion processes.
- :Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for business growth in the services sector.
- : Generate reports and analyze data related to lead generation, conversion rates, sales activities, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or customer-facing roles in the finance, accounting, or other professional services industries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of CRM software and sales techniques.
- Understanding of the professional services industry and market dynamics.
- Ability to represent the company with a professional and polished demeanor.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet targets.
- Comfortable with using technology, including Mac computers and a variety of software packages (Hubspot, Monday.com, Proposify, Powerpoint, Canva, and Excel).
- Excellent ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of an organization and external contacts, both verbally and in writing – must provide writing samples.
- Must be available to work from the office 5 days a week during our core hours of business.
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel for community, partner and client meetings and events, as needed.
- Ability to lift approximately 20-25 lbs.

LOCATION
At Book+Street® we work in a highly consultive environment – not just with our clients, but among our own team. Selected individual will be expected to work on-site as part of a highly collaborative team in our Short North office with occasional travel to our other offices located in Cincinnati and Cleveland.

COMPENSATION
This is a salaried, exempt position with base compensation of $60,000 - $75,000 per year, plus uncapped commission plan with total earnings expected to fall between $100,000 - $120,000.
