Job Summary:
The Credit and Billing Manager ensures accurate and timely submission of invoices to clients. This involves confirming invoices correctly reflect hours worked, bill rates, charged expenses, and sales tax. Also manages new client onboarding, establishes client credit limits, secures related credit insurance limits, oversees accounts receivable aging and collection efforts, works with the finance and sales teams, and executive leadership to resolve disputes and track payments, all while effectively communicating with finance, sales, operations and executive leadership. Additionally, monitors new orders for sales tax liability and coordinates legal actions when necessary. The Credit and Billing Manager should have extensive, multi-state, sales tax experience, including identifying taxable services and applicable rates, billing, collecting, and reviewing and monitoring sales return filings and client exemption certificate management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work effectively and collaboratively with finance, sales, operations and executive teams and leadership.
- Conduct credit checks for new clients, establish credit limits and payment terms, and secure related credit insurance.
- Multi-state lien management, from NTO to filing and securing payment.
- Develop and implement collection procedures.
- Supervise staff involved in invoicing, collecting and accounting for of accounts receivable.
- Generate invoices accurately and resolve billing errors.
- Contact clients for updated account information.
- Handle delinquent accounts, including communication and skip-tracing.
- Negotiate repayment terms and recommend legal action when required.
- Manage credit limits and suspend services for overdue accounts.
- Review accounts for bad debt write-offs and supervise charge-off process.
- Audit payroll procedures for compliance with regulations.
- Ensure security and privacy of client information.
- Verify client certificates of insurance certificates, and issue company certificates of insurance, Forms W-9 and other documentation, as required.
- Train staff on billing, payroll, banking and accounting system usage.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Experience:
- multi-state sales tax: 1 year (Preferred)
- credit and collection: 5 years (Preferred)
