Position Summary:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, our Territory Sales Consultants are responsible for covering an existing route list of convenience store retail customers and servicing these customers to the standard that H.T. Hackney puts forth for our Sales Team. In addition to covering the sales route, our Sales Consultants are expected to build new business through the addition of stores to their dedicated route, through business development methods (described below).
Duties & Requirements include:
SALES GROWTH
· Accountable for adding new independent single/multiple convenience store accounts
· Responsible for increasing product category penetration with existing customers.
· Responsible for maintenance and retention of convenience store accounts in assigned territory.
· Actively pursue new accounts H.T. Hackney can service
KNOWLEDGE BASE
· Ability to train and assist territory accounts.
· Complete understanding of H.T. Hackney operating procedures and products to ensure that accounts are up to date with the latest trends.
· Familiarizing yourself with our foodservice offerings and programs for our retail customers.
· Ability to provide suggestions on products and merchandising opportunities to maximize sales.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
· Follow and update designated territory route plan to achieve maximum efficiency
· Analytical ability which allows to determine territory strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
· Active listener, quick thinker, and proactive problem solver for H.T. Hackney as well as store managers
· Maintain a prospect call database
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Perform merchandising, and shelf tags updates
· Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to pass Pre-Employment testing, drug test, and physical
· Prolonged periods of driving and standing
· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time on occasion
Education and experience:
· Two-year Associate Degree, or Four-year Bachelor Degree *preferred*
· Sales experience required, with experience in foodservice distribution, retail, or the convenience store channel *preferred*
· Sales Experience (1-5 Years)
