Overview
We are looking for a self-motivated, goal-oriented Business Development Representative to continue the growth of V. Alexander & Co, Inc. All candidates must have a strong drive to succeed and be able to work on their own successfully. The specific requirements are outlined in more detail below, but it is imperative that all candidates be able to manage their own time, are well organized and are effective communicators. these are the keys to being successful in a sales role within the v. alexander & Co, Inc. organization.
Duties
- Prospecting New Customers in specific target areas
- Use prospecting tools such as Trade Mining and Piers to develop sales targets
- Attend industry networking events in local and target markets
- Making initial cold call to Qualified Prospects
- Determine and connect with the decision maker
- Set up meetings
- Manage Calendar
- Effective schedule management\
- Setup meetings with new and existing prospects each week
- Manage customer follow up
- Handle backend sales functions
- Account setup & POA process (CargoWise)
- Bond Applications
- Distribution of finalized Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- RFQs
- Manage timeline
- Print and Prepare hardcopy packets
- Manage internal process (i.e. Procurement, WBL, etc.)
- Manage CRM System
- Manage and Submit Expense Reports
Experience
- College Degree (BA/BS Degree) – Preferable
- Prefer 3-5 years of sales and/or marketing experience
- Confident, Self-Motivated, and Driven
- Possess the ability to utilize resources across the company to achieve goals
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Computer use competency
- Outlook/Office/PowerPoint/Excel
- CRM System
- Motivate and set expectations for employees who are not direct reports
- Professional business experience
- Experience and comfort level with cold calling
- Experience with networking
