Job Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who has a clear passion for independently bringing in new business with experience in Port Drayage, Intermodal, & Transloading. This is a great opportunity for someone with sales experience in the logistics industry to further their career.
You can earn up to $300K including commission.
Duties:
- Research prospects on both the transportation side of the business, as well as warehouse side, and contact them to generate sales for the company.
- The candidate will be responsible for growing a book of business, developing weekly load volume with customers, and procuring carriers to deliver those loads alongside our carrier procurement team.
- Manage the process end to end from procuring the load, procuring the truck handling the price negotiations, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of all administrative paperwork.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to ensure on-time delivery and support handling any difficulties that could arise.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation of services.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients throughout the sales process.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate must have a passion for freight and an entrepreneurial/sales-oriented mindset.
- Minimum of 2 years of business experience in an entry level sales role.
- Experience and industry relationships with port drayage, trucking and/or warehousing companies preferably.
- Understands the mechanics and technical aspects of sales.
- Strong understanding of contractual rules and regulations in the freight transportation sectors.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent sales skills
- Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and meet sales targets.
- Proficient in using salesforce software, TMW a plus
