Beech Construction Services has been in business in the Nashville area since 1993. We are immediately hiring & currently seeking skilled commercial carpenters to add to our growing team.

Primary Purpose of Role:

Providing carpentry expertise for commercial projects. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Position requires the ability to manage high volume, quick turn, commercial projects with major area clients & utilize multiple skill sets in a short timeframe. Individuals should possess their own tools & have a well-rounded construction background including but not limited to general carpentry, finish carpentry, drywall, metal stud framing, & other general construction skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

× Read & interpret blueprints, drawings, & sketches to understand project specifications & requirements.

× Build frameworks, including walls, floors, & doorframes, using multiple materials such as wood or metal.

× Install structures & fixtures, such as windows, doors, trim, & hardware.

× Take measurements & cut materials accurately to ensure proper fit & alignment.

× Assemble & fasten materials using appropriate tools & techniques, such as nails, screws, staples, & adhesives.

× Perform finishing work, including sanding, staining, & sealing surfaces to achieve desired appearance & durability.

× Repair or replace damaged or defective structures & fixtures as needed.

× Adhere to safety protocols & regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself & your team.

× Communicate with others on site, such as contractors, architects, & engineers, to ensure smooth project progression.

× Conduct quality inspections to identify defects or inconsistencies & make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.

× Manage & organize materials efficiently, including ordering supplies & maintaining inventory levels.

× Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, labor hours, & project progress.

Knowledge & Skill:

× Proven experience as a commercial construction carpenter or similar role.

× Proficiency in carpentry techniques, including framing, finishing, & installation.

× Understanding of construction principles, building codes, & safety regulations.

× Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials & working in various weather conditions.

× Be technologically savvy – smart phone, texting, & email.

× Ability to enter time on smart phone.

× Be able to take direction & keep a positive attitude.

× Keen attention to detail & precision to ensure accurate measurements & high-quality workmanship.

× Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues & implement effective solutions.

× Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members & communicate effectively with clients & stakeholders.

× Proficiency with h& & power tools commonly used in carpentry, such as saws, drills, & sanders.

× Any relevant certifications or licenses, such as a carpentry apprenticeship or journeyman carpenter certification, are advantageous.
