Purpose of the Job

As a critical member of our sales team, the Sales Engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation of the software/hardware sales process. Working with the Territory Sales team, you’ll be the key technical advisor for all Pre-sales (70%)/Post-sales (30%) support aspects within a designated territory.


Key Responsibilities

  • High-level system recommendations: Analyze customer requirements to recommend the best i-PRO solution. This includes but is not limited to High-level system recommendations, design, and implementation support.
  • Assist in pre-sales meetings with on-site technical assistance across verticals as required, including software and hardware demonstrations/presentations.
  • Work closely with the territory sales team in other aspects to help drive the i-PRO business.
  • Provide specific product training, reviewing RFP/RFI/RFQ documents, and attending shows.
  • Work cohesively across multiple departments to ensure that expectations and performance goals are met promptly and professionally.
  • Provide technical assistance to support end users for third-party products and security solutions product lines as needed.

Qualifications: Education & Experiences

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technology field is required.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience as a pre-sales technical resource, sales engineering, or similar technical role required.
  • Experience with computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of physical security, video surveillance, and technology markets.
  • Self-motivated and focused individual with a passion for technology and an aptitude for customer satisfaction.
  • Strong passion for creativity and innovative technology.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong negotiation and customer-facing skills.
  • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Has a pleasant, friendly style of verbal and written communication.
  • Intimate knowledge and experience with Windows troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles and IP communication.
  • Experience with computer hardware configuration and troubleshooting.

Other Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Vehicle and Air Travel when required for site visits.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
