Role Summary:
Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, Location Manager or Territory Manager, the Inside Sales Representative II will leverage their extensive experience and expertise to drive revenue growth, mentor team members, and contribute to strategic sales initiatives. The Inside Sales Representative II will be responsible for developing new leads, communicating with customers and vendors, understanding their needs and ensuring a smooth sales process. The person in this role must be able to close sales. The Inside Sales Representative II may assist the manager with creating/maintaining system pricing controls and training of the inside sales team.
Exciting work you will do:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Inside Sales Representative II position may consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers
  • Manage a designated book of business, consisting of larger and more complex accounts compared to Customer Service Representatives and Inside Sales Representatives
  • Create and maintain system pricing controls
  • Understand project setups and controls
  • Mentor and train Customer Service Representatives and Inside Sales Representative’s
  • Possess a deep understanding of electrical distribution products, their applications, and their benefits to various customer segments
  • Read product specifications and select correct product
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Communicate with customers and vendors through various channels
  • Acknowledge and resolve customer complaints
  • Participate in sales and product training sessions
  • Process orders and quotes in business system
  • Provide vendor portal assistance to customers
  • Maintain records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints
  • Communicate and coordinate with colleagues, customers, and vendors as necessary
  • Explain and articulate product features and applications
  • Make outbound calls to customers and following up on quotes and leads
  • Make recommendations to customers for product selection
  • Understand customers’ needs and identifying sales opportunities
  • Maintain a database of current and potential customers
  • Provide the customer product submittal sheets for their approval and tracking their progress
  • Research and qualify new leads
  • Close sales and achieve sales targets
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • Work Experience: 3 years’ wholesale distribution inside sales or industry experience
  • Education: HS diploma or GED
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or computer systems
  • Organization Skills: Excellent work ethic; excellent verbal, and written communication skills
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment; mentorship ability
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization; provide excellent internal and external customer service; experience handling escalated customer requests; strong negotiation skills

Qualifications we prefer but don’t require:
  • Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Work Experience: 5 years’ wholesale distribution Inside Sales experience; Eclipse ERP advanced user
