The Opportunity
- Location: in-office in Detroit MI, Jacksonville FL, Lewisville TX or Little Rock AR

If you enjoy learning about the Auto Finance business and helping business teams effectively utilize technology, this is the role for you. The Content Services Test Lead partners with the CS IT team, business correspondence teams, and others to ensure letters delivered to Ally’s external stakeholders are accurate, compliant with state and federal regulations, and meet business needs. You will build the strategies and schedules to assess new and changing letters prior to their release into production and oversee testing effort of the CS Test team. The Testing Lead also plays a key role in the cross-team analysis and resolution of identified defects.
The Work Itself
- Develop positive relationships with business units. Understand their business drivers and priorities.
- Maintain a high-quality functional testing program, following best practices and striving for zero project defects
- Develop schedules that enable new/changed letters to be thoroughly tested prior to their target delivery dates
- Review Test Plans and scenarios to ensure the functional testing is comprehensive
- Manage team of Content Services Testers, including review and acceptance of their work – account conditioning, letter triggering, test run outputs, etc.
- Develop and execute a training strategy to enable CS to condition and trigger more letters ‘in house’
- Assign responsibilities for letter conditioning and triggering and assist with removing barriers to execution
- Gather information regarding functional and regression test automation across the organization and incorporate automation into the CS testing process were possible
- Drive adherence to CS controls and governance process
- Assist in the analysis and resolution of production issues with business and technology partner to swiftly address and minimize impact to users and the business
- Actively participate in (sometimes lead) Scrum routines including daily standups, demos, estimation sessions, sprint planning meetings, and retrospectives to contribute to successful work refinement, estimation, planning, and alignment to expected output
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or 5+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Proven professional experience balancing competing priorities and delivering against deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify and articulate risks associated with situations and options
- Knowledge of the IT development lifecycle – specifically functional / UAT testing
- Detailed-oriented and able to perform tasks at all levels, including some routine tasks
- Ability to effectively work with employee and external partner resources, both on-shore and off-shore
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong documentation and communication skills (written and oral)
- Comfortable challenging status quo and driving change
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum processes is preferred
- Strong PC skills required: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency is a must
- Familiarity with the following tools is desired: SharePoint, JIRA, qTest
