Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Technical Sales Representative specializing in integrated security systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background coupled with excellent sales acumen to effectively promote and sell our cutting-edge security products and services. As a pivotal member of our sales team, you will engage with clients, understand their security needs, and offer tailored solutions that exceed their expectations.

The Technical Sales Representative reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Act as a trusted advisor by understanding their security challenges and proposing appropriate solutions.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our security solutions, including but not limited to surveillance systems, access control, and intrusion detection. Effectively articulate the features, benefits, and value proposition of our products and services to clients.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings in the security sector. Leverage technical knowledge to effectively communicate with clients, address technical inquiries, and offer expert advice.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company's market presence. Identify key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within target organizations.
  • Consultative Selling: Utilize a consultative sales approach to uncover client needs, provide recommendations, and propose comprehensive security solutions. Tailor presentations and proposals to address specific client requirements.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals, quotes, and presentations that align with client requirements and budget constraints. Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions.
  • Negotiation and Closure: Lead negotiation efforts, handle objections, and close sales deals in a timely manner. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Support: Provide post-sales support and serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, issues, and escalations. Ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions using CRM software. Generate regular reports to track sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecast future revenue.
  • Other: Other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in technical sales within the security industry.
  • Strong understanding of security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and intrusion detection.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with other individuals and teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Personal vehicle and valid driving license.

Working Conditions

  • ABC Security’s office is located at 55 Queen’s Plate Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario M9W 6P2
  • This is a hybrid position
  • ABC Security’s hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Overtime may be required from time to time
  • Extended amount of time sitting at a desk, using the computer, telephone, and other typical office equipment
  • Driving personal vehicle throughout the GTA to various client sites
  • Potential for out-of-town travel 1-2 times per year
  • Some lifting (up to 25 pounds), reaching, bending, carrying, climbing, walking required
  • This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week)
