About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Commercial Solar Sales Consultant to join our team here at Future West Solar. You'll play a pivotal role in expanding our commercial solar portfolio, including engaging with prospects, supporting the design of customized solar systems, overcoming objections and closing sales. You'll be part of a dynamic team committed to sustainable energy solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling the company's commercial solar solutions to businesses, institutions, and government entities.

What you'll do

  • Sales Targets: Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Pipeline Growth: Contribute to the growth of the Future West Solar’s commercial solar pipeline such as networking, road shows etc.
  • Prospecting: Identify new customers through your network, telephone activity and industry events.
  • Lead Conversion: Respond to inbound commercial leads generated by our marketing activity.
  • Customer Relationships: Manage relationships with prospects, guiding them through the complexities of commercial solar-from initial discussions to successful installations.
  • Post-Sale Support: Work with the operations team to ensure a smooth installation process and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with solar product specifications through manufacturer-led training.
  • Brand Ambassador: Champion the Future West Solar brand and Services propositions at customer facing events

Commercial Solar Sales Consultant Responsibilities & Duties

  • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities in the commercial solar sector.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct presentations and site evaluations to assess customer needs and determine the best solar solution.
  • Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and other sales materials.
  • Manage customer communications and expectations throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and other team activities.

What You'll Need To Succeed

We are looking for an established professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate will be confident in discussing solar products and the competitive advantages that they bring alongside being able to demonstrate the following:

  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in commercial solar sales.
  • Closing Skills: Ability to close deals effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Strong relationship-building skills with customers/senior stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent telephone manner and in-person sales skills.
  • Technical Aptitude: Deep knowledge in solar products and ability to explain to prospects.
  • Negotiation: Proficient in negotiation, both written and verbal.
  • Deadline-Oriented: Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure whilst staying calm.
  • Pipeline Management: Efficiently manage your sales pipeline.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the team and autonomously as needed.
  • You will be extremely networked in our service area and understand that Commercial Sales are a long game and your time and energy is valued and will pay off.

Commercial Solar Sales Consultant Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, with a focus on commercial sales (solar energy solutions an asset).
  • General understanding of tax advantages revolving the purchase of assets from a business standpoint. (Capital Cost Allowance, Investment tax credits, and general business write-offs) We will train and provide you with all of the information that you need, but you must have an understanding of these advantages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the solar energy industry and regulations

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $75,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
