What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Executive Sourer is a key member of our Global Executive Search team and reports into the Global Executive Search lead. The Executive Sourcer will develop a deep understanding of Amgen’s business and various talent needs, share knowledge of the external talent landscape, and work quickly to identify and deliver targeted and diverse candidate slates. This is an enterprise-wide role therefore the Executive Sourer will support all business units within the company from a functional and therapeutic area perspective but exclusively at the executive levels.

Responsibilities

  • Advise hiring managers and provide insights on the current state of the market including trends via market data, insights, as well as candidate feedback/interactions

  • Build and present thorough, targeted, high-quality market maps tailored to the level, role and qualifications needed for each position

  • Leverage a variety of sourcing channels and technologies to identify and present a diverse candidate slate for all executive roles

  • Operate as a subject matter expert to set a proactive search strategy leading to qualified candidate identification and pipelines for open requisitions

  • Develop candidate slates and manage candidate relationships throughout the search process

  • Conduct candidate interviews which include screening for required technical skills, role competencies, leadership capabilities and culture fit to assess best qualified talent for the position

  • Prepare candidate reports for weekly or biweekly update calls/meetings as well as other reporting, administrative tasks or project requests when needed

  • As a brand ambassador, demonstrate Amgen's values and leadership attributes, be versed in career progression and potential company opportunities, share information on DI&B initiatives and other enterprise-wide priorities that are important to and resonate with executive candidates

  • Educate candidates on the specifics of the position as well as influence passive candidates to engage in the interview process with Amgen

  • Share executive benefits and compensation package details to proactively manage the offer process and set appropriate expectations

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of executive sourcing, executive recruiting or executive scouting experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of executive sourcing, executive recruiting or executive scouting experience OR

  • Associate degree and 8 years of executive sourcing, executive recruiting or executive scouting experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years of executive sourcing, executive recruiting or executive scouting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Lifesciences (Biotech/Pharmaceutical) industry experience specifically conducting searches in R&D, Operations and Commercial

  • Previous in house or executive search firm experience working on roles at the Executive Director, Vice President, SVP or EVP levels

  • Experience researching and developing targeted market maps for candidate identification and outreach

  • Provide sourcing subject matter expertise to recruiters, hiring managers, and human resource partners regarding innovative tools, technology, and data insights

  • Sense of urgency, manage multiple time critical and potentially confidential searches simultaneously

  • Flex to accommodate shifting priorities while supporting multiple executive requisitions

  • Creative mindset in terms of strategic sourcing and talent attraction

  • Ability to influence executive leaders and act as a advisor to candidates throughout the recruitment process

  • Ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and drive for results

  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach with colleagues, clients, and candidates

  • Executive level communication and presentation skills for interactions with clients and candidates

  • Committed to providing a high touch and best in class experience for executive candidates and hiring managers

  • Experience with Client Relationship Manager (CRM) tools such as Eightfold, other databases such as Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel and PPT

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $106,971 to $127,913.
