What you will be doing

As a Staff Network Engineer, you will be leveraging your expertise in cloud networking technologies, play a crucial role in supporting the organization's cloud initiatives and digital transformation efforts. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud platforms and technologies to drive innovation and enhance our organization's cloud capabilities.

The position will be based in Plano, Texas.

Main responsibilities

• Design and deploy cloud-based network solutions using platforms such as Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop network architecture plans and strategies to support the organization's cloud projects and business objectives.
• Implement best practices for network segmentation, routing, and connectivity in a cloud environment.
• Implement and maintain robust security controls and measures to protect cloud-based network resources and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Configure and manage security groups, access control lists (ACLs), and encryption protocols to ensure data privacy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation strategies.
• Configure and manage cloud networking services, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, route tables, load balancers, and DNS services.
• Optimize network performance and reliability by leveraging cloud-native services and features such as auto-scaling, traffic management, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
• Implement hybrid cloud connectivity solutions, such as VPNs, direct connections, and inter-region peering.
• Develop automation scripts and templates using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate network provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to enable scalable and repeatable deployments of cloud network resources.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate network automation into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Monitor cloud network performance metrics and analyze traffic patterns to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
• Implement monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively detect and respond to network anomalies, performance degradation, and security incidents.
• Conduct capacity planning and scaling activities to ensure the scalability and elasticity of cloud network resources.

What we are searching for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Networking Associate) are a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on cloud networking and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and technologies, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, and load balancers.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, or GCP, including proficiency in cloud networking services and features.
• Knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices in a cloud environment.
• Experience with network automation and orchestration tools, infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve cloud network issues.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

** The salary range is 217,140 - $188,188. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually) bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus. **
