Hinds Hospice, one of the most well-known and well-respected nonprofit agencies in California’s Central Valley and a pioneer in the practice of hospice and palliative care, is seeking a Director, Business Development to join our team.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Business Development plays a crucial role in driving sales, fostering growth, strengthening access, and maintaining and creating strong partnerships externally as well as internally. This position requires a blend of leadership, sales acumen, and strategic thinking to achieve both short-term and long-term business objectives.
The Director of Business Development provides sales leadership and corporate presence to our external customers (referral sources). The DBD communicates direction and goals to the sales team while being able to coach, direct, and set sales strategies to achieve admission and census goals. Growing a profitable business and developing all members of the sales force into high-performing sales consultants through motivation, constructive feedback, and recognition are expectations. Overseeing the referral inquiry to admission process (Intake) is also an essential component of the job with consistent high referral to admission conversion rates as a goal. The Strategic goals include and are not limited to positioning Hinds Hospice as the preferred end-of-life care partner for hospitals, physicians, home health, long-term acute care, community-based services, and senior living communities.
- Providing leadership to the sales team, setting and communicating corporate goals, and strategizing to achieve admission and census targets.
- Recruiting top sales talent, communicating and executing best practices, and contributing to the development of new ideas and efficiencies
- Establishing a collaborative and strategic partnership between Sales and Clinical Operations teams to foster growth and achieve shared goals. Works to assure that service delivery to referral sources is at a high level.
- Proactively implementing company initiatives and providing real solutions to challenging situations. Implements current program and service differentiators and works to create new ones that can be applied to referral segments such as senior living communities to establish strong partnerships results if hospice census growth

- Compensation $120,000-$125,000 annually

Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- Bachelors Degree required. Masters in Business or Health Related field preferred.
- Five (5)+ years of experience in business development or marketing, Health care setting preferred.
- Experience working independently.
- Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills required
- Possess reliable transportation, a valid California drivers license, proof of auto insurance, and current auto registration.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 10 lbs.)
