Job Overview

The perfect fit for this role will be a significant asset to the team, driving revenue through targeted outbound sales initiatives. Leveraging your expertise, you'll cultivate partnerships to facilitate group reservations, brand packages, and venue buyouts. With a proven track record in the attractions, entertainment or hospitality industry, you will focus on building relationships, generating leads and exceeding your sales targets. In essence, you'll embody and advocate for the museum's innovative ethos and educational significance within the community, solidifying its status as a vital cultural centerpiece.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in organizations for recurring business opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations that showcase the museum’s offerings.
  • Create sales proposals.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients organizing private events, group visits, or parties.
  • Handle partnership inquiries, provide detailed information about available packages, and custom offerings as per client needs.
  • Manage the booking process for events, ensuring accuracy in communications to applicable museum staff.
  • Offer customized options to enhance the visitor experience, including special tours, exclusive access to certain exhibits, or tailored educational sessions.
  • Upsell additional services such as catering or special merchandise.
  • Coordinate logistics
  • Setting up spaces, arranging for necessary equipment, and ensuring that museum staff are briefed about the event specifics.
  • Conduct follow-up with client’s post-event to gather feedback and encourage future bookings.
  • Regularly attend local community events, business meetings, and networking events to promote the Museum of Illusions.
  • Form partnerships and affiliate relationships with local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and event planners.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial agreements with clients, such as package deals or cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Ensure the museum has a strong presence in local community events, festivals, and fairs, either through booths, sponsorships, or collaborative events.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the Museum of Illusions in all interactions.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment in outreach strategies and promotional materials distribution.
  • Regularly collect and report community feedback to the museum management, aiding in the development of strategies that resonate with local interests and needs.
  • Develop and manage affiliate programs with local businesses, offering incentives for referrals and joint promotions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - Sales/Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism, Museum Studies, Arts Education or Business
  • 3 years outbound sales experience managing and overseeing sales, events, guest experience and/or immersive experiences.
  • Proficiencies: Demonstrated capability to operate autonomously, devise strategic plans, and effectively execute sales initiatives to meet and exceed company targets and objectives.
  • Possesses a robust personal and professional network spanning various industries, poised to unlock future revenue prospects and forge partnerships with MOI.
  • Outstanding proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
  • Self-driven individual capable of working independently and synergistically with teams dispersed across the US and Croatian corporate headquarters.
  • Time management, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Solution based strategist who works creatively, and resourcefully to drive and maximize revenue.
  • Highly organized, capable of effectively managing a busy calendar and maintaining order with bookings, meetings, contracts, and data.

Physical Requirements/Demands

  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard, use a laptop and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and squat.
  • Must be able to properly express oneself, exchange information, communicate and converse with diverse cultures, races, and sexes.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be able to use sight to detect, determine, perceive, observe, inspect, and assess situations.
