Job Description

The Group Sales Manager at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA will be a part of the group sales and marketing team. Concentrating on various markets with accounts that bring groups to the park, this position is responsible for generating and growing group admission ticket revenue to the parks, and additional food and ancillary sales through group events. In this position you will be responsible for developing marketing opportunities to help generate sales in your market; cultivate relationships with your clients; conduct outside sales calls, training presentations and participate in trade shows.


Duties and Responsibilities


Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:

  • Responsible for driving attendance and revenue for tickets and private events to meet aggressive revenue goals.
  • Prospect and contract new accounts
  • Analyze, making strategic recommendations, and implementing business development plans
  • Manage client relationships and develop incoming leads with market assigned.
  • Participate in trade shows, annual meetings of major meeting professional organizations, sales blitzes, and arrange sales calls to clients in assigned markets.
  • Showcase the park’s unique location to potential clients through site inspections to secure the business
  • Create proposals that match park offerings to fit client needs
  • Negotiate and draft contract/agreements with clients
  • Develop new and innovative marketing opportunities to increase parks exposure to account customers
  • Collaborate with event service team and other park departments to meet client needs.
  • Partner with revenue management team on pricing to meet park revenue goals and clients’ budgets
  • Work with internal creative team on collateral design needed for market
  • Promote Park offerings including new attractions, seasonal consumer events and offerings.
  • Work outside of traditional office hours and in the park as needed
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change due to operational needs.


Qualifications for Position:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in sales or event. Experience in hospitality or theme parks is a plus.
  • Previous sales training with inside and outside sale experience
  • Self-motivated to achieve aggressive sales goals
  • Experience managing and closing the sales cycle
  • Represent Busch Gardens and Water Country USA with professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to think strategically and at a full business scope
  • Be an integral part of the sales team
  • Ability to work with various department and within varying organizational structures to achieve common goals
  • Ability to manage budget
  • Work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings as needed.
  • Able to frequently lift/move 25 pounds and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Regularly use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, stoop, crawl or kneel


Job Requirements:

  • College Degree or related sales experience
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office 365 and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
