Overview:
The Sales Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth at Platt Builders. Dedicated and unique sales abilities are a must. This position is both an independent developer of and high-level contributor to the Sales team. This role is tasked with not only selling new work but developing new business relationships and maintaining relationships with our existing and past client and our feeder base. This is accomplished through the ability to tell our story, explain and deliver our brand and uphold our culture and reputation in the industry.
Essential Functions
Sales, Estimation and Opportunity Development:
  • Reports directly to Director of Sales.
  • Works with Sales Team to understand our system and accurately creates estimates for projects.
  • Designs and drafts custom Cabinetry.
  • Creates estimates, presents proposals, plans projects, creates additional revenue.
  • Builds topline company revenues. Follows up on new opportunities.
  • Qualifies clients, presents budgets and proposals to clients.
  • Maintains client contact throughout projects including budgetary meetings, client meetings.
  • Meets with Sales team weekly to discuss leads and sales process
  • Takes conceptual design plans and draws details for projects so concepts can be built by field staff.
  • Assists Production department (if requested) with input on the construction specifications package.
  • Continually develops and sustains community and industry relationships.
  • Develops and sustains Architect/designer relations.
  • Tracks clients, track leads, attends networking events.
  • Miscellaneous duties as required.
Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Must possess a deep understanding of the construction/home renovation process; must possess a good understanding of all trades relevant to residential construction.
  • Previous project management or design experience: 10+ years a plus.
  • Extensive computer experience and aptitude and willingness to learn new programs.
  • Strong sense of customer service and excellent industry specific problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses kitchen and bathroom cabinetry design experience.
  • Strong understanding of the path between cabinetry design and construction.
  • Understands kitchen and bath architectural standards.
  • Proficient in CAD, Revit, Chief Architect, SketchUp, or Computer Aided drafting programs.
  • Must be attainment-driven and able to thrive in a high-expectation culture.
  • Responsible, self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High close rate.
  • Must be comfortable talking about money with client.
  • Willingness to continually study the art of sales.
  • Must possess tight detail management skills.
  • Have a deep understanding of materials and finishes.
  • Ability to read architectural plans, create take offs, and write specifications.
  • Understands job costs and estimation.
  • Must command respect of field personnel, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Strong communication, job coordination, organizational, leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to interact and communicate well with the client throughout the job.
  • Must dress and appear professionally as required.
  • Able to and willingness to teach and learn from others.
  • Must be available for extended work hours as required.
  • Massachusetts driver's license and good driving record.
  • Valid Construction Supervisor’s License preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Qualifies clients in relation to budget and time constraints.
  • Meet with clients to determine scope of project.
  • Guide clients through the design process.
  • Estimates and packages project to present to client.
  • Completes field measurements, conceptual drawings, detailed construction drawings and preliminary structural drawings to submit to Structural Engineer.
  • Maintains regular client contact for duration of the projects.
  • Conducts inspections with Lead Carpenter, Company President, Director of Production and client.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as required.
