Job Description
The Senior AV/IT Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the audiovisual engineering, design, programming, testing, and support of complex AV systems for the general use classrooms, lecture halls, live event spaces, conference rooms, digital signage, collaboration spaces, study spaces, and other ITS-controlled spaces across the UCLA enterprise. The Senior AV/IT Technical Engineer will create designs, perform proof-of-concepts, execute innovative best-in-class solutions, and work with internal and external teams and vendors to align Digital Spaces solutions with ITS initiatives. The Senior AV/IT Solutions Engineer will develop and maintain design, engineering, and programming standards in alignment with the vision of the Manager, AV/IT Solutions.The Senior AV/IT Solutions Engineer will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enhancing the digital learning environments and interactive spaces that support the University's academic mission and community engagement. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.
Salary & Compensation
- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications
- Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, audiovisual programming and integration, management, customer service, higher education, or a related. (Required)
- Proven experience in delivering complex network-based AV/IT solutions at scale. (Required)
- Proven experience in managing customer interests in a large-scale organization. (Required)
- Experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication. (Required)
- Seven or more years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, audiovisual programming and integration, management, customer service, higher education. (Preferred)
- Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
- Proven knowledge of integrating leading edge technologies through proof-of-concept to installation and commissioning. (Required)
- Proven ability to manage third-party vendors in a high-touch and customer-centric environment. (Required)
- Ability to execute on a long-term strategic vision for digital spaces and event services that aligns with the university's mission and goals. (Required)
- Adept at identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring business continuity, data security, and customer satisfaction. (Required)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex project delivery issues. (Required)
- Ability to articulate a strategy that motivates others to action. (Required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)
- Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)
- Advanced organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholder types. (Required)
- Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to uncover root of difficult problems and scope solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines as well as awareness of vision and strategy. Seeks information from multiple and diverse sources to inform solutions. (Required)
