Our Brea team is looking for a motivated, eager, and goal-oriented Account Manager to join the Inside Sales team (Waterworks) in Brea, CA. We are searching for a candidate that fosters a team mentality. Fastener experience required.

Job Purpose:
To maximize sales, service/advise customers, collaborate, negotiate, oversee/manage each customer’s purchases and needs, research, forecast, problem-solve, decision-make, and develop new business.
Essential Functions of the Role:
Communication
- Drafting professional written communications both internally and externally. Independent and effective telephone communication skills. Meeting all the account and customer’s needs in order to maximize profits. Communicating and collaborating (verbally and in writing) internally with departments and department managers.
Sales
- Developing leads and new business, including making unique/customized recommendations to customers and management, geared towards maximizing sales profitably. Actively researching and becoming an expert on specialized/technical products and product applications. Planning, designing, developing, formulating, and/or calculating sales strategy and customer product needs using special training and knowledge. Cold calling, after researching and developing a strategy to meet potential or actual customer’s needs (e.g., by researching and forecasting competition and technical/specialized requirements of potential or actual customer). Updating P21 system (daily), including overseeing and managing the entire account management process through the P21 system. Portal management. Making recommendations to management for improving account management and sales processes.
Cost Estimation
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for labor, material, and equipment required for fabrication projects. Analyzing historical data and industry benchmarks to ensure accurate pricing. Considering factors such as overhead, profit margins, and potential risks in cost calculations. Creating comprehensive proposals and cost breakdowns for customers. Completing and submitting quotes within specified deadlines and/or in a timely manner, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
Quoting/Pricing
- Negotiating, researching, strategizing, interviewing, and customizing, to determine, decide, and customize quotes and pricing. Using special training, knowledge, and research skills to determine profitability to the company before finalizing decision on quotes and pricing. Resolving and responding to all customer inquiries regarding pricing within 24 hours and thereafter maintaining regular customer contact. Timely (within one business day) following up on quotes sent.
Customer Service
- Utilizing ITP’s core values with all customer interactions. Embracing customer issues positively and using excellent problem-solving and decision-making techniques to resolve issues in an effective manner. Keeping calm and kind in all dealings with colleagues, employees, vendors, and customers.
Account Management
- Ongoing account management, including responsibility for overseeing all aspects of each account. Actively managing a portfolio of customers. Maintaining good relationships with customers, including solving problems and issues efficiently, and developing strategies for improving customer relations. Contacting portfolio of potential customers at least once quarterly and taking full responsibility for tracking and managing such contacts.
IT systems
- Ability to use office equipment, such as and including telephone, printers, fax, computer, software, and ERP system.
Sourcing/Purchasing
- Pricing and quoting will require you to source materials from local suppliers and negotiate prices with suppliers.
Targets and Goals, Commissions and Bonuses
- Monthly, Quarterly and annual sales revenue goals are achievable and should be met, commission agreements may be presented to provide additional compensation for exceeding and meeting goals.
Other
- Use only the systems, processes and tools provided by the company to conduct and communicate company business (e.g., ensuring all orders enter the ITP system and all calls are routed into ITP email addresses and ITP phone systems)

REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 year experience in sales
- Experience in the fastener industry
- Strong computer skills, use of Outlook, Excel, Word
- Ability to learn and use company’s ERP system
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good math skills
- Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills and a sales aptitude
- Ability to pre-empt, identify, and meet customers’ needs and requirements
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and work with minimal supervision
- Time management skills (quoting/power hour/responding back to customers)
- Experience in phone-based sales
- Negotiation skills

DESIRABLE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of sales experience
- Experience in Structural or Waterworks industries
- Experience in using Epicor P21 ERP system
- Experience in sourcing materials
