Job Description

Emerson Swan has an immediate opening for an inside salesperson in the distributions products division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Answer incoming calls
  • Respond to all customer inquiries
  • Answering technical questions, inquiries & troubleshooting from all sources
  • General problem resolution
  • Complement and back up our outside sales staff
  • Order processing, including coding, entry, price and availability
  • Coordinating with colleagues in all departments as well as the manufacturers we represent
  • Process public and “design build” quotation requests, including plan review, coordination of “buy numbers”, price negotiation and submittal packages.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND MISCELLNEUOS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred but not required
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years sales experience preferred
  • Miscellaneous: The candidate should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and should be able to multi-task. The candidate should also be motivated, self-directed and enjoy working within a close team environment. A strong desire to learn and to service the customer is a must

Founded in 1932 by Thomas J. Swan, Sr., Emerson Swan is one of the largest manufacturers’ representative organizations in the United States. Starting off as a representative organization for pipe, valves and fittings for the plumbing industry, the company has grown to include such products as boilers, solar collectors, water heaters, kitchen & bath fixtures and heat distribution products.

Our distribution products division serves plumbing and heating wholesaler and distributors throughout our territory. The primary focus of the division is to maintain and grow sales volume of existing, well-know product lines, while introducing new, complimentary products to the marketplace. Specializing in product education, demonstration and support, the distributed products division is second to none when it comes to managing the chain of supply from manufacturers to end users and all of the players in between.
