What’s the Job?

The Commercial Territory Sales Manager (CTSM) for Commercial Building & Infrastructure (CBI) is responsible to oversee our CBI’s GCP portfolio of commercial waterproofing and air barrier products, positioning CBI as the preferred choice among owner, general contractor, architect, builder, contractor, and distribution customer.

This role requires a strong understanding of waterproofing products and established relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development and Specification:

  • Engage with engineering firms and specifiers to promote and specify our waterproofing products as trusted solutions for their projects.
  • Provide technical insights to support specification and secure product inclusion in project designs.
  • Track specified projects through the bidding and tender process to ensure a seamless transition to the supply chain.
  • Effective delivery of product knowledge sessions for customers and internal teams

Relationship Building with Waterproofing Contractors:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with waterproofing contractors across Western Canada.
  • Organize and conduct product training sessions, demonstrations, and industry events to showcase product capabilities.
  • Utilize a well-established network of waterproofing contractors to expand the reach and influence of our product line.
  • Offer on-site technical assistance as needed to support contractors during project execution.
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting and guidance on complex installations.

Distributor Management:

  • Build Boutique distribution partners in the territory and maintain robust relationships with key distributors to facilitate smooth product supply and inventory management.
  • Oversee all aspects of distributor support, including inventory levels, pricing strategy, and product knowledge.
  • Conduct regular distributor training to ensure familiarity with product applications, features, and project specifications.
  • Ensure that distributors are equipped to fulfill product supply needs for specified projects efficiently.

Industry engagement & Cross functional:

  • Represent in different trade shows and expo in the waterproofing and Air Barrier segment.
  • Play active part in all relevant industry associations and any relevant building codes.
  • Work with Product Managers and Supply Chain colleagues in the US & Canada to forecast products and optimize the product portfolio.

Leadership and Project pipeline management:

  • Reports to CertainTeed Regional Projects Sales Manager(Western Canada) to deliver sales growth and sustained demand.
  • Meets Performance Objectives and Incentive Sales Goals as determined by management.
  • Utilize CRM to manage relationships, track project pipelines, and support territory growth.
  • Build effective reporting to provide insights on pipeline progress, account activity, and market opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all projects, accounts, and distributor interactions to ensure clear visibility across the team.
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge of the waterproofing industry to identify emerging market trends and opportunities for product positioning.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  • 10+ years of experience in the waterproofing and construction industry.
  • 5+ years of applied professional experience which includes managing customer relationships, sales presentations, and closings of sales.
  • Proven ability to specify products with engineering and design firms.
  • Knowledge of commercial and residential construction practices
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build quality relationships through networking.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills with good written and oral communication
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a broad territory.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tool (preferably salesforce)
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, up to 25% overnight
