Job Summary

Functions as a technology leader, department manager or administrative leader, in a role that implements design technology within the engineering strategy. May have influence in developing strategy. Responsible for execution of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configuration and customization for all engineering disciplines including but not limited to:
    • Data Field additions and changes
    • Complex deliverable modifications
    • Report customization and new report creation
    • Equipment tag format changes
    • Border changes
    • Establish and maintain standard library of CAD symbols, macros and templates
  • Owns new Project setup and maintenance
  • Responsible for setup and maintenance of user accounts
  • Interfaces design tools with additional related software products
  • Plans and implements software upgrade to minimize impact on project execution
  • Tests new commercial software releases
  • Continues expanding knowledge to multiple tools across a suite of tools
  • Develops knowledge of multiple commercial design tools
  • Continues expanding knowledge to multiple B&V technologies and/or business lines
  • Identified as a SME across multiple disciplines, multiple tool sets, and multiple business lines
  • Identifies cost / time saving opportunities through custom applications and gathers requirements to define scope of new tool
  • Reviews and provides feedback to process owners on changes required due to new plant design software
  • Suggests improvements to processes/standards based on use of commercial plant design software
  • Reviews and suggests improvements to processes, standards, and guides based on an depth knowledge of multiple design tools
  • Provides input to existing and new process spanning multiple disciplines or multiple tool sets
  • Accountability for process ownership
  • Works with B&V's 3rd party software vendors to setup, maintain, and upgrade databases, networks and servers to support commercial plant design software
  • Reviews and suggests relational database changes to improve functionality of plant design system
  • Oversee complex system / network improvements
  • Directs complex analysis
  • As a manager, provides direction to a group of design technologists. Typically oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development
  • May participate in compensation management, succession planning, disciplinary actions, employee relations and workforce planning
  • Manages resources typically involving multiple lines of business or discipline
  • Common responsibilities include staffing, recruiting, budgets, tools and/or processes
  • Resolves resource conflicts and identifies training needs
  • Influences and implements resource management strategy
  • Administrative responsibilities may include office administration
  • Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for workgroup
  • Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs
  • May approve timesheets and expense reports

Minimum Qualifications

Typically a minimum of 12 plus years related work experience.
