Sunbrella is recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Specialist which will support Sunbrella’s exciting market entry into multiple lifestyle product categories. In this newly created role, the Sales & Marketing Specialist will primarily focus on sales and new customer acquisition in the specialty retail channel, as well as supporting regional and trade/designer accounts. As part of an entrepreneurial team, this role will also partner with our Lifestyle Marketing Manager on channel initiatives that drive retailer awareness of Sunbrella Lifestyle Products. This supports our strategy of building an omni-channel business and leverages the brand equity Sunbrella has created over many years.
This role is best suited to a self-starter who thrives in a growth-oriented environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive in. This candidate is proactive, and can manage a sales pipeline, develop relationships, and find efficiencies or ask “why” to make our sales process better. Above all, you will embody Glen Raven’s culture and confidently represent the Sunbrella brand as we expand our distribution footprint and make our way into consumer lifestyle products.

Responsibilities:
Specialty Retail Channel
- Conduct outreach to all prospective and existing customers via email, phone, virtual and in-person meetings
- Partner with Sunbrella Retail Training Team to convert Sunbrella brand advocates into lifestyle products customers
- Manage relationships with existing customer base to encourage re-orders and reduce attrition
- Manage and vet all incoming Retailer Registrations, including outreach to approved retailers for first order
- Be point of contact for all Sunbrella Connect (b2b platform) needs: trainings, proposed orders, troubleshooting, customer data input, etc.)
- Report weekly & monthly on specialty retail channel activity
- As needed, prospect for new opportunities based on target market areas
- Maintain/ manage all activities for specialty retail in the CRM
- Partner with Sales Manager & Marketing Manager to execute on channel-specific marketing efforts
- Develop sales trainings and customer service presentations
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events in an effort to stay current on industry trends as well as to interact with potential and existing customers.
Regional & National
- Support Sales Manager in pitch follow-up regarding sample sends, marketing needs, POs, tracking, etc.
- As necessary, analyze sell-through and send proposed re-orders to customers based on sell through
Trade/Designer
- Manage all incoming trade/designer applications for approval
- Report on designer program status and give team updates on a weekly basis
- Identify/ target designers for outreach and additional partnership and projects
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4-6 years of experience in a sales organization
- Results-driven behaviors with a consistent focus on getting things done routinely to plan
- Proven and effective decision-making skills
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Solid communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively present to large groups and influence individual decision makers
- Experience in building products, décor or B2B sales preferred
- Microsoft Excel and CRM platform experience preferred
- Travel of 30%-60%
