OUR TEAM

We work in a customer-driven environment dedicated to bringing innovative earth observation services to life to deliver customer-focused solutions. Our products are delivered by our highly skilled multidisciplinary team of engineers with backgrounds in Geography, Physics, Computer Science, Atmospheric Studies, Mathematics, Cloud Infrastructure, Industrial Design, and Aerospace Engineering, among others. Our team of experts have achieved numerous groundbreaking achievements, including developing the world’s first colour HD video from space, building processing pipelines for some of the most well-known commercial satellites, and creating an award-winning raw satellite calibration and processing SaaS for ours and our partner’s satellites. We’re also currently underway building revolutionary earth observation-based analytics to help solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges. We are currently looking for an experienced Sales/Solutions Engineer to join our crew to contribute to our ongoing innovation and product leadership!

Do you want to work for one of the most exciting space companies at the forefront of global scientific monitoring to support some of the most pressing environmental challenges? The ideal candidate supports EDA sales executives in solution-selling to prospects, executing on strategic deals, validating technical business cases including partner integration and matching customer needs to EDA’s solutions while leveraging our revolutionary satellite constellation and partner assets.

PREPARE FOR IMPACT!

As Sales/Solutions Engineer, Americas, you will engage directly with customers and communicate technical offerings within EDA’s product portfolio of earth observation data products, data services, and platform solutions. You will be involved with the following high-impact activities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful product communication and customer engagement
  • Develop a deep technical knowledge of our products, including their strengths, limitations, value, and cost drivers
  • Partner with Account Executives on opportunities and site visits
  • Work with customers to understand technical requirements and translate those needs into viable solutions
  • Plan, prepare, and execute tailored product demonstrations to show how the product satisfies requirements and solves problems
  • Support commercialization of our products and services by working with the technical and programmatic teams to write winning proposals and produce technical content for the product sales and marketing teams
  • Test and demonstrate new software/product features
  • Add prospective feature requests based on opportunity size
  • Inform and provide feedback on the product roadmap, including prioritization.
  • Support the creation of sales engineering presentations that effectively communicate the value of EDA's products and services to potential customers
  • Work with EDA’s APIs to produce demonstration material such as Jupyter notebooks to showcase public practical examples on GitHub to foster customer engagement

YOUR PAST MISSIONS

  • Advanced degree in geomatics, surveying, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), computer science, mathematics, physics, geography, resource management, or equivalent
  • Experience conducting research and literature reviews on earth observation data use cases and applications.
  • Experience working with geospatial data APIs and performing custom geospatial data modelling and/or statistical analysis and interpretations with support from domain experts.
  • Experience with proposal or grant application processes
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and credibility as a confident subject matter expect
  • Proven ability to adapt communication styles to cater to diverse customers, ranging from individuals with a high-level understanding to technical experts deeply versed in the specific domain

YOUR TOOLKIT

  • Knowledge of earth observation platforms, data products and value-added products.
    • +1 for machine learning
  • Basic knowledge of at least one modern programming language (python, java, go, .net) so that you can perform demonstrations with our products and services
    • +1 for intermediate knowledge of software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an understanding and ability to effectively communicate with people with differing communication styles (e.g. introverted and extroverted)
  • Self-starter and self-learner attitude with the ability to prioritize workloads in order of importance.
  • You are passionate about teamwork and collaboration and enjoy evangelizing your suite of products internally and externally.
  • Feel comfortable working with customers and coming up with well-crafted answers on the spot
  • Eagerness to continually learn new things (from product complexities and its intricate use cases to language and industry jargon)

YOUR COMPENSATION

Base Salary Range: $90,000-$140,000

The range of $90,000-$140,000 annually, depends on job-related skills, experience, training, education, location and business needs. The range is based on BC-derived compensation for this role. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, when a candidate has the experience, skills, and expertise to exceed those required for the position, would we consider paying at the top of the range for this role. Beyond base, a bonus applies.

This is a hybrid role, with some ongoing, in-office work and collaboration required. There is also the requirement to travel for customer meetings, training, and conferences/trade shows and event attendance.
