Server Operations & Infrastructure Lead

SeKON has an opportunity for a Server Operations & Infrastructure Lead to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized Health IT-related applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on moderately complex problems that require an appropriate level of knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
• Work with complex application problems involving all phases of systems analysis, analysis and design of business applications for complex large-scale or mid-tier systems.
• Assist other senior consultants with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties:
  • Information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation; communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation.
• Commensurate experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements and define problems and develop plans and requirements.
• Perform functional allocation to identify required tasks and tehri interrelationships.
• Identify resources required for each task.
• Possess requisite knowledge and expertise so recognized in the professional community that the government can qualify the individual as an expert in the field for an actual task order.
• Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in engineering, scientific, computer science, operations research, business or related field.
• Eligible for Public Trust Clearance
• Minimum of 10 years of proven Information Technology design, development and delivery experience in project management. A minimum of 8 years of advanced technology systems management experience in an IT environment.
• Knowledge of FISMA and proven expertise in managing AWS environments.
• Current AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
• Experience and knowledge of database engine and technologies (AWS GovCloud, Oracle, Microsoft) in a 24/7 production environment.
• Demonstrated experience providing overall enterprise-level network system administration, planning, and management.
• The ability to lead and provide technical guidance to teams responsible for monitoring information systems operations (e.g. network, storage, system/security maintenance and updates).
• The ability to project long-range requirements, including database administration and design, in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
• The ability to effectively integrate infrastructure and configuration management activities within an organization, including change control and documentation procedures.
• Experience with leading projects and program management skills.
• Must have deep knowledge of one or more IT methodologies, software products of technologies resulting in the ability to provide SME expertise to clients.
• Must have proven skills relevant to the delivery/task order to be managed including on of the following: Project/Program Management, Enterprise Solutions Assurance, Independent Variation and Verification (IV&V), Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, and Enterprise Integration Technology, tools and solutions.
