Job Overview:

As the Senior Accountant/Manager at Robert Garcia CPA, PLLC, you will lead a small team and work closely with our clients to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of their financial records and create an amazing customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, demonstrate a deep understanding of the small business environment, and be committed to fostering a sense of community within our client base.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Provide accurate and timely financial reports to management and clients.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.

Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Compliance and Controls:

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Daily/Weekly Accounting:

Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial transaction processing.

Monitor and analyze daily financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Month-End and Year-End Closing: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes

Annual 1099 Preparation: Coordinate and prepare annual 1099 forms for vendors, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Generate necessary reports and documentation for tax reporting purposes

Journal Entries and Payroll Allocations: Prepare and review journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions. Payroll allocations for nonprofits

Client Account Management:

Manage client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.

Collaborate with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships

Meet with clients to review financials.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the accounting function. Implement best practices to streamline financial operations.

Client Communication:

Communicate and follow up with clients in a professional and courteous manner, using the brand's tone and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Provide regular updates on financial matters and address client concerns promptly.

Vendor and Client Relations: Collaborate with vendors and clients to resolve financial issues and ensure timely payments and receipts.

QuickBooks Setup for New Clients:

Facilitate the setup of QuickBooks accounts for new clients, ensuring proper configuration and alignment with their specific needs.

Chart of Accounts Setup:

Develop and set up comprehensive chart of accounts tailored to meet the specific financial reporting requirements of each client.

Maintain and update chart of accounts as needed to accommodate changes in business operations.

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and support.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the accounting department.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting

Proven 5-7 years experience in a bookkeeping or other accounting role

Nonprofit bookkeeping experience preferred

QuickBooks Online experience required

Provide great customer service to clients

Comfortable with building relationships with clients and partners

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Problem analysis and problem-solving skills

Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a heavy emphasis on attention to detail

Able to multitask, set priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality

Team work

Microsoft Office, excel experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000 -$75,000 per year

Office Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 8am-5pm

Saturday’s - must be flexible for month/quarter end closing

Work Location: Remote
