Job Description

Basic Job Functions:

Vulcraft, a division of Nucor, is looking for a Sales Engineer in our Vancouver, WA area to help with the Division’s commercial strategy. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support and expertise to the Sales Team, customers, design community, and Division. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with the design community, creating brand awareness, and providing expert joist and deck advice. The Sales Engineer must be willing and able to travel.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering field from an ABET – Accredited institution.
  • Passed FE with the ability to get PE within 2-3 years.

  • Demonstrate high levels of integrity, initiative, assertiveness, and the ability to attain goals.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to operate without close supervision.
  • Capable of analyzing and thinking strategically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb presentation skills.
  • Proven team player with a desire to contribute effectively to a team environment.

Preferences:

  • Knowledge of general building construction.
  • Experience in the steel joist and deck industry.
  • Experience working in an engineering firm.
