The Director of Product Management will collaborate with the executive team and sales organization during the preliminary exploration phase of potential new markets and products. This role involves evaluating significant market trends, identifying unmet user needs, and understanding customer requirements to ensure the company's success in entering new markets, developing solutions, or launching products. This may be achieved through internal product development, investment in new technologies, acquisitions, forging joint marketing agreements, or establishing new distribution channels.

The Director of Product Management will have responsibilities spanning both established and emerging markets and product lines. Their duties will include guiding product definition and launch, developing technical roadmaps, devising go-to-market strategies, generating demand, and facilitating sales enablement. This role necessitates a combination of business acumen and technical proficiency, providing a leadership platform to shape product strategy, secure executive support, define comprehensive product requirements, and oversee agile iterations with the engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Strategy Development: Be a trusted advisor for various initiatives within the organization in the creation, development and launch of future products and businesses. This includes evaluating new opportunities, designing, and comparing different business models, analyzing the market and competitive space, developing research plans, deriving key insights about customers, market trends, partners, and competition.
  • Product Life-Cycle Management: Manage the entire product lifecycle management from concept to market launch: define market problems, business plan, customer segments, and use cases to successfully penetrate target markets with new products. Synthesize market data and customer input to prioritize product requirements that will achieve business objectives. Oversee release planning and management and ensure company resources are used efficiently to achieve ROI and profitability targets.
  • Go-to-Market Planning: Drive the positioning, pricing, and product packaging to support both direct sales and indirect channel partners. Track top competitors and define winning strategies against these companies. Closely monitor marketplace for new industry trends and identify opportunities for strategic partnership.
  • Demand Generation: Collaborate with corporate marketing to create marketing plans that generate awareness, drive adoption, and enable the company to achieve revenue goals. Provide content for high-impact marketing tools such as white papers, presentations, and product demos, and utilize analytics to measure and increase product adoption.
  • Sales Enablement: Strategize on account development and support sales efforts to win new customers and grow revenue. Develop ROI models to help customers understand and measure ROI on product investments, as well as sales training materials covering industry trends, value proposition, and competitive positioning.
  • Market Evangelism: Be a champion for your products, educating the market, presenting at industry conferences, briefing analysts, and establishing yourself as a thought leader internally and externally.

Skills Required / Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience with success in bringing new mobile and IOT based SaaS-based software solutions to market.
  • Proven ability to define and execute B2B go-to-market programs for wireless carriers.
  • Extensive market knowledge of mobile and IOT ecosystems, including wireless network operators, device OEMs and mobile analytics solutions.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of mobile devices, carrier wireless infrastructure and mobile applications.
  • Strong analytical skills required, excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory, with experience authoring technical whitepapers, sales presentations, and marketing materials.
  • The ideal candidate will have an action-oriented style, ability to lead cross-functional teams, and possess the experience, skills, and demeanor to work effectively with the executive leadership team.
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Education Required:

  • BA/BS required; MA/MS preferred in technical field.
  • MBA in business/marketing is preferred.
