Position: Corporate / Social Sales Manager

Job Overview: Responsible for prompt and empathetic communication with clients from initial inquiry, proposal generation, detail finalization, event management and post event follow up. Activate your client’s vision by utilizing your professional expertise to create an event that aligns with their taste, style and budget that meets Roots standards for quality food, beverage and exceptional service. Accountable to implement sales strategies in order to meet sales goals.

The success of an event will depend on your organizational skills, ability to thrive under pressure and remaining positive when challenges arise. Success will also depend on your positive event staff leadership and communication with the client and vendors involved throughout the entire event.

Job Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Contact leads within 1 business day via Tripleseat, email, phone call, or referral
  • Schedule tasks within Tripleseat to maintain a steady flow of communication to clients and follow up promptly to move leads through the sales process, and completing tasks set.
  • Hold yourself accountable by scheduling tasks within Tripleseat to maintain a regular flow of communication and follow up to move leads through the sales process, and completing tasks set.
  • Use your expertise to guide clients through menu choices that align with their preferences and vision while maintaining Roots standards to ensure an excellent result both for the client and the Roots team.
  • Host clients for tastings
  • Request and secure payments prior to the event date
  • Finalize all contracts and logistics 2 weeks prior to the event date.
  • Attend monthly sales meetings
  • Create, grow and maintain vendor relationships with periodic check-ins
  • Up-sell food, beverage, rentals, design, specialty items & services throughout the planning process
  • Mine past booked events to reconnect in order to secure future business & prospect un
  • Attend site visits and final walk-throughs
  • Post event follow up with client to congratulate them and request reviews
  • Post event follow up with venue/planners to submit post event survey
  • Coordinate the following week’s schedule by Thursday of the current week and any changes to the schedule after Thursday of the prior week must be approved by the employee’s direct report. It is important for the employee to adhere to the schedule set forth for the business to be able to efficiently function.
  • Employee recognizes that if an event or sale of Roots Food Co’s products would result in a detriment to the organization in any way then the sale may not be approved.

Event Management

  • Attend BEO meetings for briefing on upcoming events
  • Create detailed packing lists based on BEO details, venue logistics and chef team needs
  • Design, pack, label, and organize all assigned events 48 hours prior to the day of your event. Communicate shortages on any items to management.
  • Create a detailed task list specific to your event needs that includes timeline and staff assignments to ensure everyone and everything is in the right place at the right time.
  • Arrive to Roots minimum of 2 hours prior to your event leave time, ready to manage all service staff and delegate tasks accordingly
  • Communicate clearly with assistant event managers [if applicable] before your departure from the event to ensure a smooth transition
  • Complete after action report and bring any issues directly to your manager

Experience

  • 3+ years experience in sales [Required]
  • 6+ months in catering industry [Preferred]

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
