Automatic Building Controls, Inc. / FIX Consulting, LLC are building automation contractors and systems integration consultants, specializing in enterprise solutions, LEED (sustainability), Commissioning and service since 1976. The position will provide bid estimates and proposals for Building Automation projects; build and manage long term customer relationships/partnerships with target mechanical contractors, MEP consultants and building owners to target and secure new construction opportunities.
Primary Job Duties:
- Create competitive, accurate, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost/benefit analysis. Effectively write, present, and communicate bids.
- Negotiates value, address resistance when demonstrated and closes the sale with optimal profit levels. Recommends which bids to pursue based on a mixture of quantitative and qualitative information.
- Analyzes customer needs with the help of manager. Effectively partners with companywide team members to accurately quantify materials and labor costs.
- Works closely with customers, architects, and engineers to ensure satisfaction and provide technical support; prepares pre-design documentation and budgeting for customers.
- Collaborates with all team members to ensure a smooth transition from prospect status to client status and conducts post sale follow up and turnover with internal teams to ensure all sales agreements have been accomplished per company standards, and customers are satisfied.
- Maintain overall account management responsibilities for assigned accounts.
- Develop accounts by tracking and analyzing services provided; interviewing key customer personnel; identifying and evaluating additional needs; identifying and evaluating new opportunities.
We are willing to train an entry level candidate, but it is desirable to possess a working knowledge of commercial construction documentation and pricing; able to read plans and specifications and translate them into estimates. Construction estimating experience with RFIs, change orders, is highly preferred.
BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
