ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, directs and executes sales and marketing goals and objectives.
- Responsible for attaining sales goals within the expense budget.
- Responsible for sales profitability.
- Investigates new markets and prepares introductory plan.
- Recommends and implements distribution methods.
- Expands sales in developing markets.
- Plan, control and direct activities of food brokers (if utilized) and distributors to obtain maximum sales volume as requested.
- Responsible for building sales through broker and distributor operations.
- Manage headquarter calls and distributor relationships.
- Responsible for maintaining existing business and expanding sales in the territory.
- Analyze sales activity by area, take required actions.
- Directs customer service activities.
- Trains sales staff including distributor and broker employees.
- Enforces and negotiates contracts.
- Develop, execute and present promotional programs.
- Coordinates pricing issues with marketing staff.
- Conducts market analysis and research.
- Attends and participates in trade shows.
- Prepares reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum three years sales, or alternatively five years experience in the food industry as a buyer or similar management position.
- Proven results in attaining sales increases.
- Experience in developing and making professional presentations successfully.
- Experience in developing and implementing promotions.
- Experience in the food service and retail industry preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Valid/current driver’s license and good driving record with no DWI’s.
EDUCATION:
- 4-year undergraduate degree is preferred.
- Basic training in fundamentals of selling preferred.
