ROLE:
Inside Sales (Garage Door Industry)
REPORTS TO:
CFO
PURPOSE:
Newly-created position to focus on outside sales / business development of the Garage Door and Hardware industry.
JOB DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Fundamental duties of a BDI salesman is selling products and service.
- Build credibility, establish rapport and maintain communication with new and current Customers, Vendors and Manufacturers.
- Look for, and discover, new customer/business –prospecting.
- Each discovery is to be documented properly and submitted into the sales profile.
- Help drive sales volumes.
- Engage and meet with potential prospects.
- Present product line and services (learning events: classes/seminars) to new prospects.
- Provide customer service and customer retention using best practice method.
- Educate new customers on present and future product lines.
- Upload prospect into current CRM system (DDI) and follow customer life cycle through.
- Generate quotes, sales order and seal deals.
- Monitor trends within customer database and in the general industry to identify demand.
- Revitalize *dormant customers to current status (dormant is considered 18 months and older).
- Dormant customers with a status change to Active, due to your efforts, will yield commissionable status.
- Responsible for visiting and engaging (emails/calls) current customers.
- Ensures an updated database, cultivate good relations, provide/extract data, or provide exchange of goods.
- Meet with Manager, on a weekly basis, to discuss progress and future goals.
- Proper and accurate documentation is to be kept to avoid redundant communications with customers.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- A thorough understanding of Garage Door operations (commercial and residential).
- Knowledge on tools used to install Garage Doors.
- Hands-on experience with installing Garage Doors (commercial and residential).
- Be able to measure and advice customers on dimensions.
- A thorough understanding of the hardware used with Garage Doors (commercial and residential).
- Hands-on experience on hardware installation.
- Knowledge on tools used to install Garage Door hardware.
- A thorough understanding of torsion springs, in regard to Garage Doors (commercial and residential).
- Hands-on experience in dealing with torsion springs.
- Experience in handling tools used to measure, cut and prep torsion springs to customers' specifications.
- Focused on customer service.
- Persuasive and goal-oriented.
- Intermediate Computer skills.
- Ability to work with various personality types.
- Have good character and be able to treat others with respect in order to promote a healthy work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Knowledge of the assigned business unit/area's direction and practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three to five years related hands-on experience working with Garage Door and Hardware.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
