Job Description
OVERVIEW:
The Sales Manager reports to the Sales Director and/or up is responsible for identifying new customers conducting business in the B2B and B2C space and expanding partnerships with the current or potential prospects. This individual will also develop a sales strategy related to current market conditions, challenge the status quo, manage the sales cycle throughout the transaction, and partner with our internal teams to ensure successful supplier partnerships. The Sales Manager will work collaboratively with our executive team to drive the current and incremental revenue and strengthen brand loyalty through our e-commerce wholesale and direct channels
DETAILS:
- Develop and implement sales strategies that ensure revenue growth and market penetration that meet established KPIs.
- Utilize market data and insights as a key resource to close sales opportunities.
- Develop an active pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Track weekly marketplace performance metrics and create sales plans to promote improvement.
- Lead projects and objectives that improve operations within each marketplace.
- Develop and build consultative-level relationships with current & potential customers.
- Engage with the customer as the primary contact point.
- In-person customer visits with potential and existing customers to expand business opportunities and build relationships.
- Execute trade shows, industry engagements, customer events, and other required functions.
- Provide insights to Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Product Management teams to capitalize on trends, and new markets, and advocate as the “voice of the customer.”
- Work with internal stakeholders and the technical sales team to overcome bottlenecks & technical hurdles of the sales cycle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or any other comparable field.
- 2-4 years of Sales experience in selling tangible products, B2B, and online marketplace a plus.
- Leadership and management experience leading a sales team, e-commerce preferred
- Must know Microsoft Excel; ability to use functions, maneuver through spreadsheets, VLOOKUP, create and use pivot tables, etc.
- Ability to create, analyze, and comprehend marketplace data and sales analytics for use in forecasting, production, and communication with stakeholders.
- Experience using automated sales tools and ERP systems, NetSuite a plus.
