We are seeking a Key Accounts Coordinator - Energy and Decarbonization, a strategic thinker who can take initiatives from concept to completion and engineer the way to a smart energy future.

JOB SUMMARY
The Key Accounts Coordinator - Energy and Decarbonization is a customer-facing role focused on engaging commercial customers to provide education, support, and solutions to advance energy reduction and decarbonization projects. The Key Accounts Coordinator - Energy and Decarbonization collaborates with both internal and external resources to meet customer expectations and foster strong relationships and works closely with business owners, building operators, and technical staff (including engineers, architects, and contractors) to deliver comprehensive support and services, identify new opportunities to enhance market share, and contribute to the achievement of Hydro Ottawa's sustainability goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the application process for relevant energy or decarbonization programs, including writing, documentation gathering, providing education about relevant financing or funding options, and connecting customers to other relevant organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of measurement and verification strategies to support reporting requirements for program rules and customer needs.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders, program delivery partners, consultants, funding organizations, and government agencies to identify target customers, communicate best practices, inform future program design, and evaluate progress and success of existing strategies.
  • Segment customers (key, strategic, managed) and refine designation based on opportunity analysis, specifically targeting energy and decarbonization opportunities.
  • Align account activities to maximize productivity and customer insight.
  • Develop and implement yearly account plans that align with overall account strategy, strategic plans, and the customer experience roadmap.
  • Contribute to developing business cases, work plans, processes, and tools to support the successful execution of the overall energy and decarbonization program strategy.
  • Identify commercial customer needs and new service area opportunities; track these insights to inform the development of new products, services, program areas and business opportunities.
  • Interact with customers and stakeholders to ascertain needs and business drivers related to Hydro Ottawa’s energy and decarbonization programs. Capture and share insights with service delivery leaders to develop strategies that strengthen market share or increase customer value.
  • Undertake consultative sales approach and leverage technical abilities to promote a wide range of company services and solutions based on vertical market opportunities.
  • Assist and lead business development activities including presentations and training seminars, proposal development, and various client management activities.
  • Populate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with customer information and manage the system content and leverage the tool to build new business.
  • Act as a primary contact for designated accounts on all energy and decarbonization programs related issues including technical, load profile information, business case development, funding source identification, and other support services.
  • Act as a spokesperson for Hydro Ottawa’s energy and decarbonization programs to designated commercial customers.
  • Ensure that customer account and information is available to executive staff and sponsors to coordinate opportunities for meetings.
  • Liaise with and support other divisions in the company to develop initiatives for improving customer service in alignment with the customer experience strategy and roadmap.
  • Assist with development and implementation of required marketing initiatives to drive business development and create potential partnerships with identified accounts.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other internal groups as it relates to customer engagement and events.
  • Follow all corporate health and safety policies.
  • Identify opportunities by researching industry sources, attending events, tracking prospective markets, customers, and competitors.
  • Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to successfully recruit new customers into Hydro Ottawa's Energy and Decarbonization programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as business, engineering, environmental science/studies, sustainability or technology focus
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in a customer-facing role, preferably focused on energy, sustainability, or decarbonization
  • Proven experience in customer outreach and account management, including developing and implementing account plans, and managing customer relationships
  • Experience with consultative sales approaches and business development activities.
  • Familiarity with energy reduction and decarbonization programs
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, including data entry and management
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including business owners, technical staff, and external partners
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to contribute to diverse teams and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to energy efficiency and decarbonization
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably Google Workspace
  • English essential, both oral and written; Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
  • Utility or energy services experience considered an asset
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid driver’s license - Class G
This is a management group opportunity and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Hydro Ottawa offers a Hybrid Work Model. Hybrid work is position specific, the details of which the hybrid model will be discussed with successful candidates.

$70,146.95
Pay Range Maximum:
$105,220.44
