Key Activities

The National Arts Centre (NAC) is seeking a Platform Manager to oversee all aspects of the NAC’s Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) ecosystem, reporting tools, third-party integrations, and roadmap. This key role involves managing Tessitura (the NAC’s CRM and Ticketing System) and software integrations, as well as serving as a liaison with external vendors and all internal teams to advance and optimize the use of the platform. The Platform Manager collaborates institution-wide, ensuring efficient data operations while prioritizing and supporting a holistic approach to system capabilities.

Reporting to the IT Systems Modernization Portfolio Manager, the Platform Manager will be an engaging, adventurous, and innovative teammate who is energized by partnering with colleagues and vendors to advance the NAC’s CRM strategic road map, progress requirements for new work, and support resource allocation for initiatives, while championing CRM data integrity, reporting, institutional capability building, and change. In the future, the Platform Manager may take an additional leadership role supporting other business systems that the NAC implements over time.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

1. Vendor & Platform Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Tessitura and integrated platforms, overseeing the timely resolution of issues, updates, upgrades, and integrations;
  • Manage the vendor relationship, contracting, and activation of new work, fostering a neutral, department-agnostic approach to platform development.

2. Roadmapping, Project and Resource Management:
  • Advance system development roadmaps and prioritization of new features;
  • Lead requirements gathering and project planning to advance CRM roadmap;
  • Plan resource allocation for feature development in alignment with team availability;
  • Champion and communicate the use of CRM across the NAC.

3. Data Management, Integrity, and Hygiene:
  • Set guidelines for data integrity across departments;
  • Develop documentation and training for efficient data processes and platform usage;
  • Ensure adherence to data management procedures and support team data hygiene efforts.

4. Institutional Capabilities Building and Reporting:
  • Establish best practices and guidelines for various functions, including constituent database management;
  • Develop and lead system onboarding, documentation, customizations, and process efficiency;
  • Coordinate data-driven projects, analyze data using Tessitura Analytics, Business Intelligence Software, and SQL, and collaborate with departments for customized reporting solutions;
  • Analyze and assess institutional data to measure ROI, track progress, and inform strategic decisions.

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, or combination of formal education and practical work experience;
  • Proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Office 365, including PowerBI, and data management;
  • Strong problem-solving, oral and written communication, project management and prioritization skills;
  • SQL proficiency and CRM software knowledge is an asset;
  • Highly engaging, adventurous, innovative, capable at balancing new vision and best traditions, and capable of partnering and influencing others to work in new ways and uphold team working agreements and values is an asset;
  • Bilingual in both official languages is an asset;
  • 3 years’ experience in support of a customer relationship management system is an asset;
  • Proficiency and prior experience with Tessitura and/or similar ticketing systems is an asset;
  • Prior experience with Scrum and agile project management is an asset;
  • Specialized training in data analytics or database administration is an asset;
  • Proficiency with MS Teams and the Office365 suite, including project and task management software like MS Planner is an asset;
  • Familiarity with arts organizations is an asset.
