Responsible for supervising the Ball Seed Sales Support Team. Oversee the growth of team members to enhance business procedures, boost sales, and growth. As part of our supervisory team, this position entails training and Development of staff members. Assist in creation, testing, and training for enhancements and new tool integrations within our sales and customer-facing system. Inspire and empower team members while support our corporate initiatives.


Leadership and team management:

  • Hire, supervise, and develop Ball Seed's Sales Support Team with the goal of creating a highly skilled, cross-functional, empowered team.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Supply, and Traffic teams with the goal of meeting regional business objectives.
  • Partner with sales reps to develop strategic customer segmentation, allowing sales support team members to focus on and service specific segments.
  • Build and encourage cohesion within a team to expand skills, develop leadership, drive proactive behavior, and optimize efficiency across all tasks.
  • Develop subject matter experts in critical areas. Identify and train personnel with the knowledge and skillset to become trainers. Assign training responsibilities and monitor quality and effectiveness of their work.

Staff Development:

  • Coordinate training needed for the team.
  • Work closely with Customer Relations Supervisors and Sales Management to assess personnel skills and design skill development programs, evaluate comprehension, and empower team to develop their skill levels
  • Set goals and provide 1 on 1 performance feedback and support.
  • Conduct annual review process and quarterly feedback to determine if currently on track to meet individual goals.
  • As a member of the supervisory team keep training materials current and up to date.

System and Technical Leadership

  • Lead responsibility in the design and testing of new tools and IT upgrades. Help with development of new IT sales and service tools and processes, and test effectiveness prior to implementation.
  • Develop and implement training of new IT sales and service tools and processes to Ball Seed.
  • Act as subject matter expert for various topics
  • Execute training of new team members and as ongoing process to ensure they are efficient and effective in all order management, service, and pricing activities.
  • Make training fun and memorable by gearing it to various levels and skillsets.
Requirements:


  • 2 years of supervisor experience highly preferred.
  • 4 years of customer service, marketing or inside sales experience required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent in business, marketing, sales and/or horticulture viewed favorably.
  • Exceptional skills in supervision and personnel management
  • Experience with problem-solving and analyzing data to help make decisions for a team.
  • Excellent work ethic. Ability to manage multiple projects at once and continually reprioritize.
  • Ability to build, evaluate, debate, and advise business scenarios to prioritize opportunities.
  • Proficient in problem-solving skills, deep systems process knowledge and capable of diagnosing and resolving complex system issues to facilitate new business growth or enhance process efficiency.
  • Technical, accurate and comprehensive written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with and unite multiple counter parties with diverse objectives to achieve our business and development goals.
  • Outstanding follow up, patience and professional persistence.
  • Develops people to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals
  • Builds partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Creates a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization

Physical Requirements:

  • Duties require the ability to sit at a desk for 85% of the day
  • Ability to wear a headset for phone usage 65% of the day
  • Ability to lift 20-25 lbs. when needed
  • Ability to use fingers/hands 100% of the day
