Job Summary
  • A Carpentry Sales Consultant is responsible for meeting new customers to discuss their remodeling project. Develop the scope of work with your team to create a Design Agreement and then with customers to draft a Construction Contract. Support your team through the production process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow up on company provided leads with enthusiasm and dedication. No cold-calling, prospecting, or networking required in this role.
  • Meet with new customers in their home for introductory pre-set appointment. Describe how our process works and discuss their wants, dreams, and needs. Take pictures, measurements, notes and create a floor plan sketch. Discuss customer’s budget for the project.
  • Create a Scope Worksheet/Estimate, along with sketches, pictures, and notes.
  • Lead Design Agreement Bid Meetings with Designer and Project Manager to review Scope Worksheet/Estimate and refine it to create a ballpark price range of the project.
  • Create a Design Agreement and meet with customer to sign the Design Agreement.
  • Attend Tech Measure Meetings at customer’s home, introduce the team and discuss Scope Worksheet.
  • Participate in Selections Meeting along with Designers at our showroom and at vendor’s showroom.
  • Attend Onsite Pre-Construction Meeting with Project Manager and Subcontractors.
  • Create a Construction Contract and present it with drawings to the customer for their signature.
  • Assist Project Managers and Designers in communicating with customers throughout the project.
  • Create Work Change Orders and obtain signatures as needed.
  • Participate in final walk through with customer, take pictures, issue warranty package and gift.
  • Attend Carpentry Department and Sales meetings as well as work Home Shows and office show room.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of sales experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the construction or remodeling industry required.
Required Skills
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record required.
  • Experience with customer management software preferred.
Work Environment:
  • The majority of the working conditions and physical demands are normal for an office or home environment. A small percentage of the physical environment will require the employee to conduct business both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid conditions while visiting job sites. This position can also require the ability to use ladders or stairs to access areas of the home for inspection including roofs. Work can rarely require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The work schedule is typically Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm and can vary based on the appointments.
  • 95% travel required in and around Dane County. The remaining 5% is at our Waunakee office.
