Position Overview: We are in search of a seasoned Body Shop Estimator to spearhead the creation and growth of our collision repair facility from the ground up. As the primary estimator, you will play a crucial role in establishing our reputation for high-quality work, outstanding customer service, and efficient operations. This is a unique opportunity for an industry expert to make a lasting impact and be an integral part of our startup success.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Setup: Collaborate with management to plan and set up the collision repair facility, ensuring it meets industry standards and regulations.
Source and recommend the best equipment, tools, and software for the efficient operation of the shop.
Estimating: Conduct thorough and accurate damage assessments on vehicles, providing detailed repair estimates.
Collaborate with customers, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders to explain estimates and negotiate repair plans.
Team Building: Recruit and lead a team of skilled technicians and support staff.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes quality workmanship, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of quality parts and materials.
Negotiate favorable terms and pricing to maximize profitability.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control standards to ensure repairs meet or exceed industry benchmarks.
Conduct regular audits of work in progress to maintain high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Body Shop Estimator in the collision repair industry.
- In-depth knowledge of repair techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with industry software and estimating tools.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- I-CAR or ASE certifications preferred.
