We are searching for a highly creative, data-driven, and results-oriented product manager to oversee and manage all product and channel initiatives that will drive multi-channel growth for the new Viro lighting brand. Serving as the voice of the customer and chief brand evangelist, you’ll work closely with our design and development teams to establish the brand’s product roadmap and define/develop new product designs. You’ll also collaborate with our marketing and sales teams to develop and execute channel-specific go-to-market programs to drive traffic, engagement, and conversions across multiple channels of distribution. The right candidate will be a strategic thought leader, collaborator and project manager, capable of playing the cross-functional integration role that successfully propels product/program innovation.

Your primary responsibilities include:

Product Development & Management:

You’ll establish the brand’s product roadmap and lead the product development process with a customer-first focus, translating customer insights into new product concepts, and inspiring cross-functional ideation, rapid learning, and alignment on key features that satisfy the concept’s core value proposition and cost targets. You’ll define and deliver product requirements to enable the product development team to design, prototype and build to specification, and you’ll own the product release process. Key tasks:

  • Identify customer needs and market requirements
  • Conduct/evaluate consumer and competitive intelligence
  • Establish financial goals, timelines and key milestones
  • Define product features and functions
  • Develop pricing strategy
  • Manage all stages of the product lifecycle

Channel Management:

Working with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll drive alignment across consumer, business, design and technical requirements to achieve breakthrough programs that deliver user experiences, features and messaging that delight Viro consumers and channel partners. You’ll manage development and distribution of all product information required by internal audiences (marketing, inside sales, operations) and external audiences (field sales, channel partners, customers). You will also facilitate market-facing messaging and collateral related to sales, promotions, field marketing and channel support. Key tasks:

  • Work with marketing/sales teams and channel customers to develop GTM programming, launch plans and customer-facing communication strategies
  • Develop product data and assets for marketing/sales use
  • Develop training programs, sales tools and collateral for inside sales, field sales and channel partners
  • Work with manufacturing, operations and logistics teams to define product ordering/shipping requirements and product release schedule

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree or MBA – preferred.
  • 3+ years progressive experience in Product Marketing or Product Management
  • Decorative lighting or design industry experience a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Wordpress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Access and Adobe Creative Suite a plus

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to product lifecycle management and new product development.
  • Ability to assess market trends, competitive intelligence, financial data and customer needs.
  • High degree of competency in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing/motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive & enthusiastic attitude toward solving challenging problems.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Polished presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task among various assignments and seamlessly juggle strategic visioning with hands-on execution.
