Job Description

Develop and implement a sales plan to solicit, negotiate and confirm ancillary services for contracted events.

  • Prepare written proposals and bid presentations utilizing established pricing guidelines.
  • Meet with clients and participate in facility site visits and planning meetings and provide clients with all necessary information relative to successfully execute their events.
  • Guide clients in the preparation of events in regard to facility rules and regulations, policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor departmental communications procedures to ensure that all departmental personnel are aware of all contractual and potential commitments.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales.

Facilitate relationship between the client and the Production and Technology Departments to ensure availability of equipment, accurate costing, proposal interface and the successful execution of the event.

  • Coordinate and attend meetings with the Sales, Technology and Production Departments to ensure constant communication as well as to avoid overselling of equipment and or need to source additional equipment.
  • Assure that input to the Event Management System is maintained and up to date.

Stay current with industry trends including but not limited to sound, lighting, staging, networking and wireless to make suggestions when respective departments are considering capital updates to equipment and inventory.

Experience

Required
  • 3 - 5 years: Sales related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or multi-purpose facility, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
  • 3 - 5 years: Production/Technology and Sales related experience and/or training in a convention, hotel and/or multi-purpose facility.

Education

Required
  • Bachelors or better

Licenses & Certifications

Preferred
  • Certified Meeting Prof.
