Your Role
Our Director, Key Account Managers are strategic consultants with the ultimate responsibility to understand our customers' requirements in proposing solutions that add value and build long lasting partnerships. We're looking for vertical specific and generalist account manager experience.Your Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for important accounts: engaging with the customer and Kuehne + Nagel's network as the lynchpin in developing a relationship. Become a trusted advisor and the customers voice within Kuehne + Nagel.
- Plan and build key account strategy: defining strategic approach on value proposition and solution and the internal and external positions of Kuehne + Nagel on RFQs and tenders; partner with our departments to deliver attractive pricing and service.
- Identify new opportunities: increasing the footprint of business and solutions with assigned customer(s), ensuring an attractive and sizeable pipeline and high closing ratio.
- Conduct structured review sessions: aligning and updating customers on customer strategy and priorities; adjust our value proposition; offer continuous improvement and new ideas.
- Competently connect global account teams: ensuring true global customer representation, collaborating with other national/regional KAM's.
- Key Account Manager networks globally and exchanges best practices and sales leads.
- Control monthly performance: monitoring volume, profitability, pipeline, overdues, and ensuring immediate actions in case of deviations (i.e. accurate reporting).
- Hand over new business: transitioning new business into operations to ensure that customer requirements and the commitments of Kuehne + Nagel are met.
Your Skills and Experiences
- Requires 5+ years of freight forwarding industry new business sales and account management experience.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of international supply chain and experience with clients on a national and/or global scale.
- Experience with managing accounts within the Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Healthcare, Industrial, Consumer, and Hi-Tech/Semiconductor verticals is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in logistics or related business field.
- Experience with End-to-End Logistics processes and solutions.
- Customer service skills.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
