Our Director of Sales & Events will lead our dynamic sales team to new heights of success. This role will be a key pillar and leader, representing a newly renovated upscale Full Service Boutique Hotel & Conference Center in the state capital, Frankfort, Kentucky! As the driving force behind our hotel's revenue generation efforts, you'll be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to maximize profitability and market share. Your primary focus will be on identifying key market segments, cultivating relationships with high-value clients, and securing lucrative business opportunities. Drawing upon your extensive industry knowledge and experience, you'll lead the sales team in generating leads, negotiating contracts, and closing deals to achieve and exceed sales targets.
In addition to driving sales, you'll provide visionary leadership and mentorship to the sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Meets/Exceeds Rooms/Food & Beverage revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable - win-win selling approach.
- Targets results-oriented, high revenue potential, sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan.
- Captures competitor's accounts through networking, research and reader board surveys in order to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business.
- A minimum of 20-35 qualified outside sales calls weekly. Out of town solicitation is also to be made when requested.
- Acquires referrals from existing accounts: Follows up on all leads within 48 hours of receipt in an effort to create new business for the hotel, and, when appropriate, sends leads to other Taylor Hospitality properties.
- Plans and implements an on-going Targeted Account Development "hit list" in order to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts, and contracts.
- Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments in order to enhance the hotel's financial performance.
- Maintains well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner.
- Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction.
- Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.
- Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
- Focuses on revenue-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating a minimum 90% work time on direct sales efforts.
- Professionalism: Controls expenses while traveling on the property's behalf in order to minimize department and hotel costs.
- Represents themselves, Hotel, Conference Center, Restaurants and Taylor Hospitality.
- Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all co-workers for the best overall performance of the hotel and restaurants.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Finance or related major
preferred or the equivalent work experience. - Must have hotel sales and marketing experience in a leadership role.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet hotel needs that include nights, weekends & holidays and be on-call as
needed as the hotel operates 24 hours per day, non-stop year long. - Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
