About this role:

Corporate & Investment Banking ("CIB") delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

The Cross CIB Banking and Wealth Solutions team within CIB is seeking a Lead Corporate Banking Relationship Manager, at the Vice President level, to join its team. The position will report to the Head of Cross CIB Banking and Wealth Solutions.

In this role, you will:
  • Focus on deepening Wells Fargo's relationship with asset managers and high net worth individuals, including supporting the group head in relationship management efforts
  • Help drive overall CIB Banking / WIM partnership and collaboration to bring WF clients a more holistic coverage model, and more comprehensive solutions
  • Be responsible for developing presentation materials for client meetings and internal discussions
  • Take ownership of and lead follow-up items with a client after a call, as applicable
  • Structure transactions related to private funds, asset managers and / or high net worth individuals
  • Focus on structuring and building credit risk management programs for various business initiatives, as well as infrastructure and internal operations:
    • Finance / revenue reporting
    • Head count / hiring plan
    • Salesforce infrastructure
    • Product capabilities
    • WIM LOB & support teams
    • Data & Analytics
    • Capital management
    • Control
  • Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporating requirements into credit analysis, observations, and lending recommendations
  • In support of senior staff, perform or guide credit underwriting work of junior staff accounting for all risk factors and providing risk rating recommendations
  • Sees items through to resolution to support broader deal team/organization
  • Direct junior members of team to help with client and internal meeting material preparation

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of relationship management, credit underwriting and / or business management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong accounting skills and ability to analyze financial statements
  • Relationship management or client-facing experience
  • Credit underwriting and / or COO experience highly desired
  • Experience structuring transactions related to private funds, asset managers and / or high net worth individuals preferred
  • Experience structuring credit risk management programs for strategic business initiatives is critical (preferably for private funds, asset managers, and / or high net worth individuals)
  • Experience building business-level monitoring and reporting infrastructure is critical
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite may also be required
Pay Range
$120,400.00 - $287,600.00
