Sales Manager
Reports to: CEO
Location: Houston or remote
Senior Dent is seeking an experienced and results-driven leader to lead our dynamic sales team as Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales strategy, team leadership, and revenue generation. In this role, as a Servant Leader, you will be responsible for setting the direction and guiding the execution of our sales initiatives to achieve company goals and objectives.
Summary:
The Sales Manager is the leading position for the selling of Senior Dent dental and medical services to nursing homes and their residents. It includes the planning, implementation, and control of sales programs, as well as recruiting, training, motivating, and evaluating members of the sales force to ensure it is a high-performance selling team.
The fundamental role of the Sales Manager is to develop and drive a selling program that effectively contributes to the organization's goals. The Sales Manager will decide how many salespeople to employ, how best to select and train them, what sort of compensation and incentives to use to motivate them, what type of presentation they should make, and how the sales function should be structured for maximum contact with customers and prospects and overall contribution to the company’s goals.
Establishes strategies, plans, and sales tools to expand the customer base and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for all the members of the sales team.
As part of the management leadership team, this leader also directs and interacts with marketing for sales presentation needs and tools, as well as IT for effective CRM strategies for sales effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy development
o Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
o Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
Sales Leadership
o Obtain profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, coaching, skills development, and service knowledge.
o Manage the sales team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, (and expense controls), meeting agreed targets, and promoting the organization’s presence.
o Lead and schedule weekly one on ones with each seller, bi-monthly team meetings with the sales team and monthly meetings with the leadership.
o Embody company culture and maintain high sales employee engagement.
o Meet pre-determined revenue goals through the activities of direct reports.
o Ensure correct usage of CRM and other sales applications for customer acquisition and sales conversion.
o Train and ensure adherence to all sales processes.
Personnel
o Set individual territory sales and commission targets and ensure processes are in place to administer the commission plan.
o Personally observe the performance of sales representatives in the field regularly.
o Provide high standards of ongoing training for the sales representatives so that they possess sufficient knowledge to present information on the company’s services in an accurate and balanced manner.
o Develop onboarding and training plans for new salespeople to ensure success.
o Coach and develop direct reports to foster a culture of motivation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
o Provide meaningful and productive feedback. Conduct performance evaluations to ensure team members are meeting or exceeding targets.
Operations
o Direct the sales administration function, and operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising the executive team on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
o Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports, and cyclical sales meetings.
o Assign sales territories, set sales goals, and establish training programs for the organization’s sales representatives.
o Track sales team metrics and report data (i.e. forecasting, KPI’s and results) to leadership regularly.
Planning
o Assist in the development of the annual sales plan, specifically advising on realistic forecasts for each product and territory (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy, and sales effort), realistic costs of operating the sales force, and sales promotion program plans.
o Analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and monitor customer preference.
o Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO for strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
Cross-functional Collaboration
o Work closely with marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall customer experience and product roadmap.
o Facilitate communication between departments to ensure a seamless flow of information and resources, ultimately driving customer satisfaction and retention.
Customer Relationship Management
o Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business partnerships and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
Reporting and Communication
o Prepare and present regular reports to the sales team and CEO on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior leadership.
o Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, representing the company in a professional and impactful manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises a team of Account Executives and Customer Support Representatives.

Requirements
Bachelor in Business Administration.
Proven success in building, leading, and growing sales teams that call on and work with highly educated professionals who work in or direct laboratory and research environments.
Industry experience in healthcare services preferred.
5+ years of experience in sales and successfully leading a sales team.
Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools such as PipeDrive.
Ability to establish and manage executive-level customer relationships.
Ability to develop strategies and execute them.
About us: Senior Dent is a pre-paid insurance based health services provider.
Excellent compensation: In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $ 90,000 annualized base salary, plus $35,000 commission plan with no caps. This is a 70/30 mixed compensation plan, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Senior Dent, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, including company-paid health insurance, 2 weeks of PTO per year, and more.
